We are periodically putting free information of interest to our FB friends. In this installment, we are going to talk about no fault first party insurance coverage, and why you need them.
First off, no fault coverages include, uninsured coverage, underinsured coverage, no fault med pay coverage as well as no fault disability coverage. These coverages are purchased when you purchase your liability policy and are relatively cheap. compared to the total premium and the cost of liability coverage. These are good insurance values as the these coverages can provide you with a security in case of an auto accident.
We assume, everyone has liability coverage because the law requires liability coverage up to $25,000 per person limits. However, many people purchase the coverage and only pay a month just to secure their tags and then allow the coverage to lapse.
If this person is at fault in a collision and causes injury, often times you're unable to purse them since they have no insurance coverage, and even if you obtain a judgment, they can easily bankrupt the liability. Thus, you would need underinsured and uninsured coverage to protect you. If another person causes the injury or property damage in an automobile collision and has no coverage or has insufficient policy limits to cover your entire damages.
Likewise, no fault med pay coverage up to $5,000 , and no fault disability coverage applies if you have medical bills as a result of a collision and your are unable to work. In this case the coverage that you buy from your insurance carrier will kick in and pay you up to $5,000 for the first medical bills and a certain percentage of your income if you are unable to work for a period of time after your injuries.
Again, these coverages are relatively inexpensive given the security that they provide.
