Between the two kids, they now have two laptops, a gps tracking watch/phone, and an iPhone. Our house was like a jungle - cords everywhere. I built a small shelf, and bought a “hole saw” for $9 which you attach to a drill. It bores a hole through the wood. Now I can hide everything in here and the kids will have a place to charge all their gadgets at night. I love a good project!

It’s master bedroom makeover time! Just bought this bright red rug from Everything But The House and you can take a peek at some of the other things I’ve chosen. Upholstered bed, gray nightstands, white walls, and fresh white bedding. Last pic is my inspiration photo by Mitzi Maynard for Redo Home and Design. What inspires you?

One of my favorite hymns, hand painted with a walnut-stain wood frame...for a great cause. Will be a silent auction item!

Finally, warm again so I can reset the porch. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, winter.

Here's the reality of home projects - they just take time. This was originally the only closet in our master bedroom (old house love). Once we added on to the house, we got a walk-in where we can house our clothing and shoes. So what to do with this closet? It's becoming a much-needed linen closet. We decided to take out the hanging rods and Dad kindly built new shelves which will go in once I finish stenciling! Slow design = OK.

A few pics of the new dressing area in our master... I decided I am too old to be kneeling on the floor drying my hair and putting on makeup! I shopped the house almost entirely for this setup. (True love art came from Homegoods several months ago.) Happy Monday, everyone!

The DIY Christmas ornaments turned out! I hope my kids smile when they grow up, hang them on their own trees, and remember that year she learned to ride a bike, and the first time he co-piloted a plane.

Working on some keepsake photo ornaments today. Fingers crossed they turn out!

The door is back. After attempting to strip it myself, I found lead-based paint. I backed away slowly and called in the pros. We spent good money to bring this door back to life. We could have bought a new one. But this door is part of the house. And we wanted to keep it. I am so happy we did!

The chair seat has been fixed. I think the pics are pretty self-explanatory but I touched up the cut with some fray check then matching paint to make it "disappear" some, and not ravel. Once that was dry I added some thick braided rope trim around both armrests.
