Yes, I realize I have posted a lot of pictures of Caroline today, but when you are involved in Rescue and when Parvo is rampant year-round. When coccidia and all the other viruses just keep attacking the babies

When you sign up to take three Demodex babies and after weeks of fostering them ….they are rushed to emergency where you sit for 3 1/2 hours as the vet team works on them and then you find out that their liver has been eaten alive. Their kidneys are not doing well. Their blood test come back higher and off the charts than this particular vet in all her years of service has ever seen

I can’t make this s**t up …at midnight
Emergency vet who is all about full disclosure said I’ve never seen numbers that high

When you bottle feed around the clock when you make sure the puppies have the right meds every 12 hours or around the clock or whatever is needed when you administer fluids because that is the next step

And then when you become RAW after all that… you have to celebrate the puppies like Caroline and Moose from many years ago. You have to celebrate when puppies like Faith and Kobe survive being thrown down a stair staircase, having puppy strangles where the face swelled up four times the normal size… and one of our vets who is REAL with me even said WTF when he saw Kobe

You have to celebrate the ones that live you have to celebrate the ones that survive the odds

When you have backyard breeders and puppy mills and dog fighting rings in your own backyard you have to celebrate a little baby Caroline and all her friends that were tough enough to beat the odds

So yes, today is Caroline day. I just decided that I am naming today, Caroline day as I pet her little head as she sits in a big bed.

I smile as she sleeps, and if the truth be known Faith , a little girl that was thrown down the stairs, who is crippled because of that…. she cannot do stairs.

She freaks out when she goes anywhere near a staircase…. so every morning every afternoon every evening, I carry her down the stairs to go outside but Faith who survived the odds has decided that she can sit at the other end of this big puppy bed where a little Caroline sleeps away in dreamland.

We can’t save them all and we can’t rescue them all but we sure can give it everything we’ve got while they’re here with us🛟♥️🤍

We Love having creative volunteers even if ChatGPT helps out a little

Still too young to adopt but we have started to take applications for Ms. Caroline… she got a clean bill of health

She should be able to go home within the next month or so so if you’re interested in a little boxer pitbull mix, this would be your girl. She probably has husky and her two because she’s got those husky eyes.

She has an only dog she’s been through so much with her illness, which is now completely gone she loves attention. She loves sitting in your lap. She loves being cuddled.

She could also be in a home with one other dog who has already established and would guide her

More than that, it’s going to overstimulate her. She’s very smart. She’s very well behaved. She’s starting to really sleep in the crate at night and not be concerned with what’s going on in the house.

She spending more time in her crate all along, and realizing that it is for safe space

But in her new little tae kwon do shirt, she is ready to pose for you. She is now 6 1/2 weeks old.

All of these pups are available for adoption. First part of an adoption is to fill out the application and submit it and then follow the instructions on the application.

The other day someone wrote to us and they said oh we didn’t realize we were supposed to send you a video too, and NOBODY ADVISED US!!

We don’t mean to ever speak ill of anyone but on this side of the fence, we are all volunteers. A lot of us work full-time jobs. A lot of us are raising small children or teens quite a few of my fosters have grandchildren too!!

Suffice it to say we take time out of our busy lives to Foster, puppies and dogs and volunteer for Rescue because we are passionate about it

When the person said, no one told me I needed to send you a video as if it was our fault as if we should have advised her in someway personally… the admin team PAUSED!

If you read the application it’s right there in black-and-white. I think it’s even in capital letters

If I’m not mistaken it’s in bold font and it tells you there’s a Home video that’s due so we can make sure the puppies are going to a safe organized home and there’s vet records that are due if you have pets currently!!

Not a lot to ask when we’re talking about A live animal that is going to spend the next 12 to 15 years with you

Most of you are strangers to us.

We think you’re all very, very good people but every now and then somebody sneaks in.

Oh goodness gracious somebody sneaks in …that you go what the heck happened here ?!?!?!???

If you can’t read a simple application form and follow the instruct ions…. Then we have to truly wonder how will you take care of a dog

If your life is that busy or you are that entitled …then maybe a cat would be a better option

One of our volunteers always says tell them to get a cat

Cats are so self-sufficient and so independent you don’t have to train a cat per se

Lately training seems to be a very big concern and we can recommend really good trainers  but if you’re not wanting to work on the lessons and don’t want to put in the time and invest the money to train with a really good trainer then I think our Volunteer is right

But on the other hand, if you truly love puppies and dogs, and you truly want to give them a good forever home and you are willing to put in the time the energy the money that it takes to raise a good dog. If you are willing to understand the breed. If you are willing to make them a priority and truly give them quality care and quality time. If you want a companion, if you can take the time to ensure that their energy level is met that they’re getting the walks. They need that they continued to gain confidence with you that they have already started gaining in foster care… then please join us please submit an application. Please read all the instructions. Please follow all the instructions in a timely fashion.

Then give our admin and adoption team time to review everything. It usually takes 24 to 48 hours. We are very busy at the moment and please be patient.

That’s another area where my team gets frustrated is when you can’t be patient when you’re sending them email after email or if you have their cell number because they interviewed you… and you start texting them…. Let the process work.

We get that you are excited …we’re excited that you’re excited 😜 the last thing this team will ever do is rush and adoption

Lately there’s quite a few folks who wanted to negotiate the process seriously they want to negotiate our process. I can’t imagine what some of the bigger rescues deal with our process is easy simple.

Recently, I had a person tell me this is taking too long…. He had interviewed the night before, and the committee had not even received the recap yet from our adoption team.

Seriously dude take a freaking chill pill

We spent weeks and months and sometimes years with these puppies and dogs we know them

My team and I are kind enough and care enough to give you full disclosure… we think it’s key to having a successful relationship with this new puppy or dog that you were bringing home

We will guide you if you are receptive and if you want to hear our perspective?

But attempting to negotiate or rush the process or show us that you don’t have patience….. not a good sign on adopting a puppy

So there you have a nutshell…if you take nothing else away from this post…. We don’t get paid for what we do …we should. We put in a hell of a lot of hours. We spend a lot of time and energy to ensure that these puppies and dogs land in great homes.

In the eight years that we have found homes for over 1600 doggies…. We have had a very successful positive ongoing adoption rate.
