St. Louis sits at the center of Americaโs freight map for a reason.
With access to major interstates, rail, river, and air cargo, the region gives food & beverage, CPG, and retail brands a powerful advantage for national distribution.

We are in the middle of Safety Week! This is what ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ. ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐. ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป. looks like in action.
Before anyone moves a load, they learn to move it right. One of our experienced instructors is walking a new hire through safe operations, hands-on, step by step.
It matters more than you might think. It is estimated that about 70% of powered industrial truck accidents could have been prevented through proper operator training.
Every confident, well-trained associate makes our entire network safer. That's the work we celebrate this week and every week.

Safety Star of the Month: Kelvin McWilliams ๐
Safety Week is in full swing across BGDC, and our Atlanta team is proud to spotlight one of its own.
Meet Kelvin McWilliams, June's Safety Star of the Month. In 18 years with us, Kelvin has made safety more than a priority. He's built it into his work ethic. Selected by 2nd Shift Management, he's known for showing up every day, helping wherever he's needed, and speaking up about the things others might overlook, whether management is watching or not.
Kelvin is a valued associate and a great person, appreciated by everyone he works with. Congratulations, Kelvin, and thank you for raising the bar on safety.

You can buy racking. You can buy forklifts. You cannot buy this.
Every pallet on this floor is moving because an associate made it move, accurately and on time. That is the part competitors can't copy. 2,000+ associates across our network turning product around at the highest accuracy, every shift, every day.
The advantage was never the building. It was always the people in it.

One week in, and we're still excited about this one. ๐
The launch of our first-ever Summer Internship Program is a milestone for BGDC. It represents a long-term investment in our future workforce, bringing fresh ideas to our teams while giving promising students real projects and mentorship from our leaders.
In case you missed it, here are the three interns spending the summer with us: ๐
๐๐ป๐๐๐ฒ๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ผ๐ป (๐๐๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ฎ) is a business student at Morris Brown College working alongside Rynell Hodges on a project to improve receiving accuracy for inbound loads. Outside of work, she's passionate about creative arts and dreams of starting her own business one day.
๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ (๐ฅ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ๐ธ๐ฒ) is an Industrial and Systems Engineering junior at Virginia Tech, partnering with Emery Mower and Chuck Martin on inventory control and quality processes. When he's not on-site, you'll find him outdoors, in the gym, or back on the rugby pitch.
๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป ๐ช๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ฟ. (๐ฆ๐. ๐๐ผ๐๐ถ๐) is a second-year MBA student at Washington University, working with Michael Declue on SOP development and continuous improvement. A proud Memphis native and Grizzlies fan, he loves hiking with his border collie, Amos Moses.
They're already settling in across all three sites. If you spot one of them this summer, say hello!

Some heroes wear capes. Ours wear vests and run the floor.
When leadership get together to talk process, planning, and what's next across our shifts, good things follow. The conversations here are what keep 2,000+ associates moving in the same direction safely and on time. No bat signal required.

Safety Week is almost here!
At BGDC, nothing comes before our associates going home safe at the end of every shift. Safety is not a box we check. It is how we look out for one another, every day, on every floor. Safety Week is our chance to put that front and center, sharpen the habits that keep us protected, and celebrate the associates who live it out all year long.
From June 15 to 19, all three of our sites come together for a full week built around keeping each other safe. Each facility will have its own games, challenges, and ways to celebrate, all aimed at building safer habits and recognizing the people who put safety first.
Keep an eye out for more details from leadership as the week gets closer, and plan to take part. Let's keep looking out for each other, just like we always do.

POV: You're an empty pallet, and it's been a long day.
The work's done and the dock's gone quiet, but the floor never really stops. One of our associates rolls past on the electric lift, recycling and cardboard in tow, keeping things clean and moving long after the freight has shipped out.
