I’m so grateful for each of you who supported the ME4U campaign! It has been an amazing nine years of serving the residents of District 4! I look forward to the next chapter.

This! This is what it’s all about. Almost a dozen of us knocked on hundreds of doors tonight, visiting with residents, reminding them to vote, and enjoying this lovely weather! Nothing beats an in-person visit and chatting with our neighbors!

Thoroughly enjoyed meeting new friends and neighbors and last night’s community meeting. We’ll use this format going forward so that residents can address their concerns and questions directly to the department heads.

Communication is important for residents, and it’s important to share news in ways that meet their needs — meetings in person, newsletters via email, phone calls and texts. Social media is only one of many ways to share vital updates.

I look at this photo daily. It’s right beside me as I work, and I remember this moment, this dear time in my life when my family was whole — we were all there celebrating my swearing in as the first woman to represent District 4.

Jeff could not have been prouder. He was always my biggest and most vocal supporter. And it buoyed me when I was tired, or frustrated, or simply needed a sounding board for my thoughts and ideas. He was my person, and I hope you are all fortunate to have the same kind of person in your life — one who is there throughout it all and is the steadying force in the storms of life.

I am deeply grateful for the residents of District 4 as you all were right beside me as I experienced the shock of Jeff’s passing and the grief that followed. You made sure my children had what they needed, my grass was cut, and my refrigerator full of meals for weeks. You all gave me a sense of community, and the love that comes from a community, in my darkest times.

Thank you. Thank you for allowing me to serve you in return, to be your voice, to be the person on the other end of the line when you need help. It has meant the world to me, and I humbly ask for your vote Aug. 26. Together, we make District 4 and Florence even better.

We have another community meeting coming up this Thursday that you don’t want to miss! Department Heads and other employees from the City will be on hand to address your questions, from speed bumps to speeding in neighborhoods to power outages and non-emergent issues for the Florence Police Department.

There will be snacks and prizes for children who visit all the booths. Come ready with your questions!

District 4 is in need of volunteers to work the polls on Election Day, August 26th. Message me if you are interested, and I will share your information with the City.
