Florence County is honored to be recognized by the United Way of Florence County for its outstanding support and commitment to giving back to our community.

This year, Florence County received the Campaign Excellence Runner-Up Award, the Campaign Advancement Award, and the Campaign Coordinator of the Year Award.

These recognitions reflect the generosity of our employees and the dedication of those who help lead our annual United Way campaign efforts.

Yesterday, Florence County Council proudly presented a resolution recognizing the Carolina Academy Softball Team for winning the 2026 SCISA Class 2A State Championship.

Congratulations to the Carolina Academy Softball Team on an incredible season and a well-deserved state championship! We wish you continued success both on and off the field.

During yesterday’s Florence County Council meeting, council members presented a resolution recognizing the Carolina Academy Tennis Team for capturing both the SCISA Class 1A/2A Region and State Championship.

Congratulations to the Carolina Academy Tennis Team on an incredible season and a championship-winning year! 🎉

Florence County Council proudly presented a resolution recognizing the P*e Dee Ice Cats for an exceptional inaugural season.

The organization achieved remarkable success in its first year, capturing a Division Championship, earning a berth in the Commissioner's Cup Finals, and advancing to the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).

These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the players, coaches, staff, and supporters who helped make the season a success.

Florence County congratulates the P*e Dee Ice Cats on their achievements and looks forward to watching the organization continue to grow and represent our community at the professional level. 👏🎉

Florence County Council was honored to receive a $20,000 HERO (Helping Emergency Response Organizations) Grant from Duke Energy during today’s council meeting.

The award was presented by Mindy, the Director of Government and Community Relations for Duke Energy, on behalf of the company's commitment to supporting first responders and strengthening community preparedness.

The grant will support the Florence County Fire Rescue Department by helping purchase two truck-mounted traffic message signs and supporting traffic control equipment to enhance emergency response efforts during storms, road incidents, and other hazards.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Duke Energy for this investment in public safety and for partnering with Florence County to help keep our community safe.

At today’s Florence County Council meeting, we proudly recognized employees who have dedicated 20 and 25 years of service to Florence County.
