The Thunder will be holding a series of free open workouts for girls interested in being part of our new Thunder Developmental teams and training program. First work out will be Friday Dec 20th 6pm to 8pm at Oil City Sports in Oceanside. This will be open to girls ages 7 to 10 yrs old. This program is not designed for current travel player. We have designed the program as a year-round teaching tool to teach young athletes the fundamentals and mechanics of travel softball. Our Goal is to work with young athletes teaching them the game from a travel prospective while having fun and helping strengthen Little league and High school programs alike. Our development program will have quality trainers and coaches as well as former and current college athletes offering their expertise. We will run our developmental program with sessions in the Spring, Summer and Fall with the possibility of a winter training programs. Our Spring portion will run around Little league programming and will take Little League schedules in the highest regard. We will entertain community teams as well as individual athletes and will be looking for volunteer coaches. Every team will be a Thunder Developmental team with future aspiration for players and or teams possibly being a Thunder travel players or teams.
Our program will consist of the following
- Clinics
- In house games
- League play
- USSSA C level Summer Tournaments
- In House one day Spring Tournament
- Development

A beautiful day for a fair. And, an awesome fair it was. Congrats go out to Samantha Pages who was recognized for designing the new banners for the business streets of Floral Park. A Special thanks to Cathy Grasman of Jo-Mar Grooming and Jo-Mar Grooming & Boarding who organized the event with a solid committee that included Terry Whalen of Sterling Sign Co, Judy Torre of Senior Service Assistants, LLC, Michael Jakob of Carriage Trade Insurance, Rich Vitello of AAA Taxi, Stephen Wickes of One Sound Label, and Karen Meraglia of TD Bank.
