Flooding impacts more than your environment — it can impact your mental health, too.

Flood-related stress can lead to high levels of anxiety, and these feelings may last for months or even years after the event.

Experiencing or recovering from a flood can also increase the risk of depression, post-traumatic stress, and emotional distress, even for those without a history of mental health conditions.

Preparing ahead can help reduce anxiety and give you a stronger sense of control during uncertain situations.

If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, or emotional distress, support is available.

At Genesee Health System, we provide counseling, resources, and professional support to help you navigate difficult moments and recovery.

You are not alone in this. 810-257-3740
