Local designer helping local businesses

09/16/2026

I look at a lot of small-business websites for work and the same thing keeps showing up. Great business, great reviews, and a website that's quietly working against it. It loads slow, the phone number isn't tappable, and there's nothing on the page that tells Google or ChatGPT what you actually do.
⠀
That used to cost you a few rankings. Now it costs you the recommendation, because AI search pulls its answers from sites it can read and skips the rest.
⠀
I'm a custom-coded web designer with two openings before October. Three pages for a flat $1,500, half to start, half at launch, live in about three weeks. Hosting is included, no monthly bill, and you own the files. I work with businesses anywhere.
⠀
If you want an honest read on your site, comment or send me a message. Quick call, no pitch, and I'll say so if you're fine as-is.
⠀
Be honest, when did you last update yours?

Someone is on their phone right now deciding whether to call you, and they'll decide before they ever talk to you. Your website isn't the brochure anymore. It's the front door.
⠀
And the front door changed. People ask ChatGPT and Google's AI for a recommendation now, and those tools only recommend businesses whose sites they can actually read. Most small-business sites were built once, years ago, and never touched again. Slow on a phone, no clear way to call, nothing that tells a machine what the business does.
⠀
I build custom-coded websites and I'm taking two more before October. The 3-page site is a flat $1,500, half to start, half at launch, live in about three weeks. Hosting included, no monthly fees from me, every file is yours. Remote is fine, most of my clients I've never met in person.
⠀
Not sure if your site is helping or hurting? Comment or message me and we'll do a quick call. No strings, and if you don't need a new site I'll tell you that.
⠀
When's the last time you opened your own site on your phone?

Open ChatGPT and ask it for the best [whatever you do] in your town. Did it say your name?
⠀
For most small businesses the answer is no, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the work. AI recommends what it can read. A template site with a logo, a photo, and a phone number gives it almost nothing to go on: no clear service pages, no structured data behind the scenes telling it what you do and where.
⠀
I build custom-coded websites and I have room for two more before October. Three pages, home, a service page, and contact, for a flat $1,500. Half to start, half at launch, live in about three weeks. Hosting is included so there's no monthly bill from me, and you own every file when it's done. I work with clients anywhere, everything happens over the phone and email.
⠀
Comment or message me and we'll hop on a quick call. Fifteen minutes, no pitch, I'll just tell you where you stand.
⠀
So, did it know who you were?

Every business on Main Street in Beacon, Kingston, New Paltz, wherever you are, has the same thing happening right now: someone is on their phone deciding whether to call you before they've ever met you. Your website is the front door, not the brochure.
⠀
And the door has changed. People ask ChatGPT and Google's AI for a recommendation now, and those tools only recommend businesses whose sites they can actually read. Clear services, real location info, the structure behind the scenes that tells a machine what you do and where. Most local sites don't have it.

When's the last time you looked at your own site on your phone?

A lot of local businesses that think they need a new website probably don’t.

Sometimes the real problem is that not enough people are finding the business in the first place.

Sometimes people are finding it, visiting the website, and leaving without reaching out.

Sometimes the leads are coming in, but calls get missed or follow-up stops after one quote.

And sometimes, yes — the website really is the problem.

That’s why I’ve started looking at customer acquisition a little differently.

For most businesses, there are really six places things can break:

1. Get Found
2. Convert
3. Respond
4. Follow Up
5. Reactivate
6. Measure

A new website only fixes one part of that.

Curious what other Hudson Valley business owners think:

**Where do you feel like your business loses the most potential customers right now?**

Comment the number — or “not sure” if you genuinely don’t know.

Google and AI don't look at your website. They read it.
⠀
When someone asks ChatGPT for a contractor in the Hudson Valley, nothing about your homepage design enters the conversation. A machine pulls fields: what kind of business this is, what services you offer, what towns you cover, your phone, your hours, your reviews. If those fields aren't labeled in the code, they come back blank. Blank businesses don't get recommended.
⠀
Most sites I open have the phone number sitting inside an image, the menu or price list locked in a PDF, and no business type declared anywhere. The site looks fine. It just doesn't say anything a machine can read.
⠀
That's not a redesign problem. It's a labeling problem, and on most sites it's a one-day fix.
⠀
Have you ever checked what your site actually tells a machine?

This is what a site audit from me actually looks like.
⠀
Not a screenshot with a red circle on it. I render the site in two different browsers, on desktop and on a phone, then go line by line through the code the visitor's phone actually receives. Phone links, forms, headings, schema, share previews, page structure, the footer nobody has looked at since launch. Anything I can't confirm in both renders doesn't make the report.
⠀
The site in the image is a mock, but every flag on it is something I've found on real Hudson Valley business websites. A phone number that isn't tappable. A quote button that goes nowhere. No business schema, so AI search can't tell what you do or where you are. Most owners have no idea, because none of it is visible from a laptop.
⠀
If you want one on your site, message me the URL, or head to my profile for the link and fill out the form there. You get a short written report with what I found and what it's costing you. No pitch attached, and if the site's in good shape I'll tell you that too.

Real talk from someone who looks at small business websites all day: most of them are missing something. And I'm not saying that because I build websites. I'm saying it because I'd rather you know than not.
⠀
Sometimes it's small. The phone number isn't tappable. The photos are cropping wrong on phones. Sometimes it's bigger: Google's not sure what you do, or the AI tools people are asking for recommendations now can't read your site at all.
⠀
You wouldn't know unless someone told you. So I'm offering to tell you.
⠀
Free site audit report. Plain English, no strings, no call required. If nothing's wrong, I'll say that too.
⠀
Just DM me your website. That's it.

Just opened? Or been open a while and still fighting the website, the Google listing, the whole online thing?
⠀
Through September 30 we're taking $300 off our 3-page custom-coded site: home page, one service page, contact page. Built in 14 days, loads fast on phones, set up so Google and AI search can actually read it, and you own the code outright.
⠀
Here's why it pays for itself. LocaliQ's 2026 benchmark puts the average paid search lead at $66.69. At that rate the site covers its own cost in under two dozen leads, and every call after that is one you didn't buy.
⠀
A real website also changes what people trust you with. DreamHost's 2026 trust survey found people will spend about $177 through a business website versus $36 through a social page or DM shop. If you're taking jobs over Messenger right now, that gap is the ceiling on what people think you're worth.
⠀
Message the page and I'll walk you through what's included. Happy to just answer questions too.
⠀
What's the part of the online stuff you've been putting off longest?
