Allen and Cathy Mowery completed their purchase of Lot 24 of The Hollows at Frisco Hill late this afternoon. I forget exactly where they live, but it is in Seckman Valley. Like many at The Hollows at Frisco Hill they want to build up but do not want to leave a community they love. They did something that I wish more customers would do. They talked to me and decided they liked the lot BEFORE they went to a bank and opened up on their finances with me. It was a give and take conversation face to face. They said something in that conversation that made a light bulb go off in my head and I suggested what they should ask their banker about. They did. It worked and it saved them a lot of money. For privacy reasons I cannot tell what it was, but I can help you ask your banker the right questions. Talk to me first about financing if you like land I am selling. Far too many of my clients think they have to be pre-approved by a bank to deal with me. That is just not the case. I would like to provide the extra service of helping get the best loan available. Now that I have made my commercial based on their useful experience, I welcome the Mowerys to The Hollows at Frisco Hill.

AN OH MY GOD I just discovered on surveying! I knew it was true but this picture shows the numbers. There are two sets of numbers on the north line of Lot 2A and on the south line of Lot 1A. One set of numbers is labeled "record" and the other "field." Record numbers are from technology of about 1989 using a very long tape measure and a magnetic compass. The had to keep the tape measure level. Field numbers are measurements with 2015 technology. Surveying is still a mixture of accurate measuring, art and legal decisions. But compare the numbers to see how good these guys were with 1989 technology.

Bryan and Jessica Pour completed their purchase of Lot 20A at Spring Forest Valley on Wednesday afternoon. Lot 20A consists of 6.05 acres and is located just off of Seckman Road near Hodge Elementary School.

Their son observed about 1/2 way through the closing. "It sure is a lot of signing." They are looking forward to a little elbow room and have like minded neighbors. We welcome them to Spring Forest Valley and Imperial.

Not my best picture, but I enjoyed the presentation and had a great audience. For those who only know me only through facebook, I am the first picture. Gene Fribis is a prominent local engineer with a very long track record in land planning. The HBA was asked to present local issues to a club interested in multi facets of local government. Gene and I are both board members of the local Home Builders Association. Frankly, I felt honored to be asked to speak and I think Gene felt the same.
Gene did the engineering and much of the design on both The Hollows at Frisco Hill and Stonebridge Place. It was in consultation with me and guidelines we worked on together. I think many will agree that both developments are among the very top tier of the very prettiest in Jefferson County.
