Today, we celebrated the retirement of our Total Joint Coordinator and OR Circulator, Sharon.
Sharon joined the Twin Cities family last year and was the driving force behind the success of 2 new programs for the center, total joint replacements and neurosurgery. She was the perfect person that our community needed to advocate for outpatient joint replacements and outpatient spine procedures.
Prior to joining our team, Sharon worked in various leadership roles throughout the St. Louis area, all based in the operating room where she is truly amazing to watch!
Sharon has been a monumental influence on so many throughout her astounding 45 years as a Nurse. She has touched so many lives by providing the best care to every patient that she interacted with.
We wish her the very best as she enjoys retirement and thank her for being the perfect example of what being a phenomenal Nurse is!

Having bunion pain? 😥
We are pleased to offer the lapiplasty procedure at our facility, performed by Dr. Loucks! 🙌🏽
Click the link below👇for more information on this procedure!

https://www.treace.com/lapiplastydev/

Treace Bunions can be very painful. With each step, your entire body weight rests on that bunion. Ouch! A common misconception about a bunion is that it is an overgrowth of bone that can simply be "shaved off". In reality, bunions are complex deformities caused by an unstable joint.

Being a healthcare provider during the COVID-19 Pandemic is something none of us ever imagined.
We have been challenged with the unknown each and every day since this pandemic began.
At our center, we have strived to always provide our patients with a safe, welcoming and friendly environment. Our top priority is to treat everyone like family.
Unfortunately, the restrictions and policies that we have had to put in place for the safety of our patients, staff, surgeons, and families have interfered with the most important part of our jobs, which is social interaction. We miss that and we know you do too. Interacting with each other gives everyone a sense of security and we will continue to do our very best to provide each patient and their caregivers with the very best care we can, in the safest way we can-for all of us.
I received this letter from an anonymous patient today and I couldn’t be more pleased to see that what we are doing is appreciated and that someone was kind enough to share that with us. This is what keeps us going each and every day!

In order to keep our patients, staff, and surgeons safe, and do our part in preventing the spread of COVID-19, we will only allow 1 visitor per patient in our facility effective Monday, March 16, 2020.
We ask that you leave any school age children in the care of a loved one while you have your procedure done or while you accompany a patient during their procedure.
If you are experiencing fever, cough, runny nose, or shortness of breath, we kindly ask that you do not enter our facility and report your symptoms to a doctor. If you are a patient, we will work with you and your surgeon to reschedule your procedure.
Our top priority is the safety of all that we care for and those that care for you.

In honor of National Time Out Day, our staff decided the Bruins need to take a time out from winning the Stanley Cup this year.
GO BLUES! 💙

06/12/2019

Today is National Time Out Day!
For a surgical patient and their family members and friends, a wrong-patient, wrong-site, or wrong-procedure surgery can be life-altering. As perioperative nurses, whose role is to be the advocate for the patient, we are committed to reducing surgical errors and improving patient outcomes by taking a meaningful time out before each surgery – for every patient, every time.
On National Time Out Day, hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers around the country are reminded to evaluate the quality of their operating rooms’ time out process. Time Out Day was established 15 years ago by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) to support the protocol and build greater awareness for this crucial safety measure among surgical team members.
As a proud member of AORN committed to safe surgery together, we want to remind our colleagues in the OR to reaffirm our pledge to provide each surgical patient a focused time out, with the full and undivided attention of the entire surgical team. As a team, we can prevent errors.
