Two teams. One Program. 🐯

We were invited to the Capitol yesterday by Representative Bill Lucas of DeSoto. The girls were honored on the House floor, experienced the Whispering room, met Governor Kehoe, and had lunch at Arris Pizza. It was a fun day of celebration.

We ended the day by presenting Coach Beard with her State Championship medal on the front stair of the Capitol.

We would be remissed if we didn’t mention Representative Ken Waller who passed last fall. He hosted us last February. As his assistant, DeTrishia reminded us, his departing words for us were to win it again. Getting back together with her and Representative Lucas was a way for them to honor his memory. 🐯

Finally caught up with Kayla today and awarded her a state championship medal. A high-character, selfless teammate. 🐯

We got the team back together and celebrated our season this evening. So many accomplishments to celebrate, but spending time with this group is something the coaches will always cherish.
