Frank Schaeffer lecture poster
Our Schaeffer Lecture poster group had an interesting encounter recently. Kathryn Grayson, a Junior at Longwood University, uses her Longwood Blog, CMYK, to discuss graphic design and the work she has been a part of in Design Lab.
Recently she wrote a blog entry about the Schaeffer Lecture poster.
The title of the lectures “Faith, Duty, Citizenship: The Cost of Changing One’s Mind” posed a special difficulty to the group. "[They] are all very loaded words with lots of connotations – they have multiple meanings, often times personal, that people automatically associate with them when heard" said Grayson, referring to how hard it was for her group to accurately work on the poster.
After writing the blog on February 1, she got a special response on the 5th. Frank Schaeffer commented on her blog saying how pleased he was with the poster and wanted to know who had made it. He also commented saying "I wished you would design my next book cover. Good work, thank you!"
