In 1952, during the Korean War, a U.S. Navy pilot accidentally landed on the wrong aircraft carrier, touching down on the USS Wasp instead of his own ship, the USS Coral Sea.

Rather than reprimand him, the crew covered his aircraft with chalk graffiti and jokes, including the famous message, “Must Be Air Force,” poking fun at his navigation mistake. The incident became one of the most memorable examples of military humor during the war.
