A hydrotherapy pool can be a meaningful wellness feature for a senior living community.
But its value is not created by having it on the tour.
It comes from whether residents actually use it, whether staff can support it, and whether the space makes sense over time.
Our latest blog post explains why senior living hydrotherapy needs to “earn its footprint” by supporting daily resident movement, staff workflow, flexible programming, and long-term wellness goals.
Options like the SwimEx DepthSelect Series can help support residents across a range of mobility levels with adaptable water depth, low-impact movement, group wellness, and confidence-building aquatic exercise.

A health club can be more than a place to work out.
At Northern Arizona Health Club in Kingman, Arizona, that idea is at the center of everything they are building: a steady resource for people who want to move better, recover with support, manage stress, and stay connected to their health.
The facility supports therapy, aquatic wellness, chronic pain programs, swim instruction, injury rehab, and community-focused programming. With multiple SwimEx therapy pools, plus hot and cold plunge pools, members have more ways to move, recover, and build routines.
The heart of the story is simple: give people practical tools for better health.

One pool rarely serves one purpose.
In real rehab, athletic training, and wellness facilities, a therapy or training pool may need to support conditioning, recovery, return-to-play, mobility, and users with very different needs, often in the same day.
That is the thinking behind the new SwimEx DepthSelect Series.
DepthSelect provides adjustable depth within the underwater treadmill zone while preserving the SwimEx paddlewheel current and multiple water depths elsewhere in the pool. This enables staged progression without altering the full pool environment.
We’re excited to introduce a more targeted way to support depth progression while preserving the versatility that makes the pool valuable throughout the day.

One therapy pool. Many daily needs.
That’s the reality for rehab clinics, senior living communities, athletic programs, and wellness spaces planning for long-term use.
A pool may need to support gentle movement, recovery work, and structured training. When the pool is too narrow in how it can be used, staff feel it in the schedule and users feel it in the experience.
Our latest blog post looks at why versatility matters when planning a therapy or training pool, especially for facilities serving mixed users and evolving programs.

Yesterday, while cleaning out books from my parents' house, I saw a book: Future Stuff by M. Abrams and H. Bernstein, with a SwimEx on the cover. The book was published in 1989.
Intrigued, I looked inside and saw that they predicted SwimEx would be a product of the future with 100% certainty, changing how people exercised at home and commercially.
And here we are in our 40th year!
