Gold bar cake BTS: these actually started out covered in neon yellow fondant! I got the gold look by first spraying pearl dust as a primer, and then by painting gold luster dust on top of that. The result was a matte yet shimmery gold. I waited until all three were covered and colored before stacking them, and then I touched up finger prints and streaks with extra gold paint.
