A story of just how much rugby ties can mean to some . . . When the Romanian Rugby Team was involved in overthrowing Ceaușescu. Several men who also happened to be rugby players were lost in the insurrection. A U.S. agency (one of those 3 letter agencies) sent a "support team" to the new regime. On their last day there, at a group dinner, an American and rugger got up to speak and in his best French explained how he shared their pain in the loss of their teammates. He equated it to his rugby days and continuing to play on even as one player had to leave due to injury. He said he could only share their grief with a small token of appreciation as a warrior and rugby player. He then gave them his club tie. The entire room rose in cheers and began to sing the Romanian National Anthem. A small gesture that means so much.

In the early days the most practical way to identify your club was to add a patches or badges to your cotton club jerseys. Since the 70's we have done that, then moved to direct embroidery on jerseys. Now everything is sublimated directly into the fabric and long gong are the days of trading team patches and badges. We have collected and displayed our work at our shop in Merrifield, Va. THERE IS A LOT. It's now time to part with our collection of patches. We have selected a few groups to select from for sale. $5 each. You can choose from the photos letter A-I and tell us which patch you want. Some are one of a kind, some last of it's kind, and some we have a few of. First come first serve.
