[05/21/20]   The Supreme Court of Virginia’s Fourth Order Modifying and Extending Declaration of Judicial Emergency in Response to COVID-19 Emergency, which is in effect from May 18th to June 7th, states that beginning May 18th, “all courts may hear in-person non-emergency matters if they determine it is safe to do so, and provided they comply with the guidance for transitioning from emergency to routine operations provided by the Office of the Executive Secretary in order to minimize the risk of the spread of COVID-19 from in-person court proceedings.”

[04/30/20]   By court order entered on April 29, 2020, the 20th Judicial Circuit (Loudoun, Fauquier & Rappahannock) has established temporary hearing procedures that permit remote hearings by teleconference or web-based video/audio conference in certain cases, and when all parties consent to the remote hearing. Beginning the week of May 11th, emergency matters will be heard Monday through Wednesday and contested child custody and visitation matters will be heard on Fridays at 2:00 p.m.
