Meeting this Wednesday, September 28th at 7:30 PM in the Engineering Building, Room 4201. We will have food from Panera, and our guest speaker will be Sean Kennedy from the field of structural engineering.
On Thursday, September 29th there will be a joint meeting between GMU SAME (Society of American Military Engineers) and ASCE from 11:30 AM - 2:00 PM in the Engineering Building, Room 4201.
As many of you may know, the annual career fair is quickly approaching - and to make sure everyone is ready for this, we will be holding our Resume Workshop and Career Panel in the coming weeks. The Resume Workshop will be on September 30th, and The Career Panel is on Monday October 3rd, at 7:30 PM in the Engineering Building, Room 1602. We will have representatives from many different companies at the Career Panel to give advice and answer any questions you may have about internships, resumes, networking, and being hired. Even if you are not looking for a job right now, this is still good practice! The Career Fair itself is on Tuesday, October 11th from 12:00 - 4:00 PM in Dewberry Hall.
Last, we have a fundraiser for ASCE on November 1st, from 11AM - 4PM at Panda Express. Flyers for this event will be out shortly!

Great weekend in Provo, Utah! Thank you to Brigham Young University for hosting this year's ASCE and AISC Steel Bridge Competition! It was an honor to win 1st place in Stiffness for the second year in a row!
Another annual ASCE BBQ goes down in the books. Great food, company, and even got a new theme picked out for the next year's concrete canoe! Good luck to everyone on finals and congrats to our grads!

8:30 AM/9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Companies Arrive and set up
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Brunch for companies/Volunteers

ASCE Career Fair will be hosted on
November 12th from 11-3pm (There was a change in time and location from the previous flyers)
Itinerary:
8:30am - 9:00 : Set up tables and Ball Room
9:00am - 10:00 : Companies Arrive and set up
10:00am - 11:00 : Brunch for Companies and volunteers (ONLY)
11:00 : Doors open to students
3:00 pm: End of Event/Take down

What you need to know:
Resume CDs:
** I need everyone to send me their resumes so I can compile a CD to give to the companies.**
GRADUATING SENIORS/GRAD STUDENTS: Please note that you are graduating this fall or if you are a graduate student. I have extended the deadline to send them to me to October 27th and I will send them in to the companies on October 30th
EVERYONE ELSE: Send them into be BY November 3rd 12am, If you send it past this time/date I will not take them.
Side note: Bring several copies of your resume. (Even though I will be sending our the CD's does not mean you shouldn't bring a resume....or 10)
Dress Code:
Business casual/business professional
