Another Fair Oaks vehicle has started its long journey from Virginia to Ukraine. It has had some repairs made, and is awaiting transport overseas.

This former chief's vehicle and utility was donated to provide additional EMS support in the field. We are told that the ambulance donated a year ago has transported thousands of injured civilians and military personnel to hospitals.

Pictured with the vehicle, two of our members dropping the unit off in Fredericksburg along with the President of LifeCare, who helps support the programs for Ukraine EMS.

One of the many public services performed by Fair Oaks is to provide EMS coverage for local running events.

Yesterday, we were teamed with Potomac River Running to assure that the 600 runners had EMS standing by for any problems.
At the end of the event, a photographer was nice enough to take a team picture.

Way to go team!
I know the runners and PRR appreciate the support.

One of the two new utilities for the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire & Rescue company is several steps closer to completion of outfitting. This unit will become a chief’s command vehicle, utility, and snow plow when 100% outfitted. The second one will support the technical rescue response team at the station. Thanks to our local supporters; you made this possible!

Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire & Rescue Donates Retired Ambulance to Ukraine

Working with the Chicago-based Ukrainian Medical Association of North America (UMANA) and some related medical relief charities, the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company (FOVFR) has donated a retired ambulance to be shipped to Ukraine to assist with the relief effort there. Along with some additional supplies, the ambulance will be moved into Ukraine and used wherever the need is greatest; either in the cities or near the battlefront.

Per FOVFR President Jonathan Wood, “The opportunity arose to do something really positive in the world, and the company wholeheartedly supported the effort.” Pictures of the unit after it goes to work in Ukraine will be made available.

Update 8/31: Vehicle has been Approved for Export at the port of Baltimore, and is scheduled to sail on Sept 7th.
