D.C. region sets new goals for solar adoption 11/27/2023

NVRC's Solarize Northern Virginia program with our local government colleagues, local solar installers and the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) was highlighted in a recent Washington Post article on in the greater region and a new goal set by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. We are pleased to tackle this challenge. Since 2014 to 2022 our program has resulted in 690 contracts which represents 8.8% of new arrays in the region.

D.C. region sets new goals for solar adoption In an effort to cut greenhouse gas emissions, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments said it would like to see 250,000 solar rooftop systems installed by 2030.

Trails Feasibility Study RFP Issued 10/27/2023

NVRC is soliciting proposals through November 29, 2023, from qualified firms experienced with recreational trails to conduct a feasibility study for a network gap in the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST) in Loudoun County, Virginia.

The selected firm will identify, assess, and present potential routes options in the planned PHNST corridor with considerations for costs of trail construction and maintenance, land ownership, accessibility, park connections, scenic views, and other key elements for trail development and completion.
