02/19 Update: Good Morning🌞 Team Bogey learned of two, and possibly three, sightings this week. All have been located in the area between Pohick Road and Saratoga.Two sightings came from one person. He is experienced in working with wildlife, so he knew how to behave in a non-threatening manner. Bogey came within 10 feet of him and hung around the woods nearby for about 30 minutes! He said Bogey looked really good for a dog who has been on her own for so long: she was not too thin and was not torn up or anything. We now have cameras and feeding stations set up behind his house. The hope is that Bogey feels safe enough to continue to return there and we will eventually be able to trap her. 🤞 Please report any sighting information to 703-596-9296 immediately. Thank you!

2/13 Update: We had another sighting yesterday in the same area as the two last week. Just when we thought maybe Bogey was settling into a smaller area, we got another sighting this morning off Rolling Road near the Franconia-Springfield Parkway. Today's sighting was about 2 miles from yesterday's. After investigating we learned that she may have also been in this neighborhood last week. The good news is that the sightings are getting more frequent. This could help us see if there is a pattern to her movements. Remember, you don't have to be certain to call in a sighting. We would much rather have the information even if you are not sure it was her!

02/09 Update: We’ve had two possible Bogey sightings, both in the area of Pohick Rd/ Newington Forest. One sighting had the dog chasing a fox through a neighborhood street into the woods. Another sighting had the dog about a 1/2 mile away from the first sighting, walking quietly along the stream.

For those in the area, please leave a gate open if you can safely do so and keep watchful through your windows. As a reminder, do NOT leave food out if you don’t have a camera, as it hinders our efforts to bring Bogey to our feeding stations. Repot sightings immediately to 703-596-9296. 01/17/2022 Update: Team Bogey is following up on several possible sightings from this morning in the woods along Middle Run. MANY neighborhoods connect to these woods. If you live in one of these neighborhoods, please take extra looks out your window today. Team Bogey is in the area. We need your EYES and NOT your feet, so please DO NOT go looking for Bogey on foot. Eyes out of windows is what we need. If you live in a home that backs to Middle Run woods, please look out your windows today AND leave gates to yards open if you can safely do so. Better News for Bogey!

1/9 Update: Possible sighting in the middle of the night near Fred's Oak Road and The Fairfax County Parkway. It was dark, so not a clear view to know if it was Bogey for sure but there was definitely a loose dog. It seems a bit far from the sighting on 1/8, but we have had confirmed sightings near there before, so not out of the realm of possibility. The great news is that the word is spreading and people are calling quickly!
1/8 Update: Possible new sighting this afternoon. A dog matching Bogey’s description was seen running fast across Hooes Road in the direction of the Laurel Hill Golf Course.

SIGHTING - Bogey was seen on Wednesday night at 9:45pm at Saratoga Elementary School. She was moving quickly but she does seem to be coming back to this area periodically for some reason.

Possible sighting - Bogey may have been seen on Wednesday afternoon around 4pm near Silverbrook and Hooes Rd. It may seem like a long way from Saratoga, but it's only a few miles, which Bogey can easily walk in an hour!

We won’t be able to track this one because we know there is already scent in the area, however, the description, location, and behavior all sounded like Bogey. Do you have a barn or shed within a fenced yard in Bogey's territory and do not have dogs that run loose in the yard? We are looking to make Bogey feel at home and if you are willing to let Team Bogey set up a bed and camera for Bogey, please send us a private message. Annie will discuss / answer questions, but basically, we are looking for a place Bogey may want to hang out. Fence is optional.
