Yes, 2020... 'That' year. My original plan was to run the first Fools Ride on April Fools' Ride Rally but the world had other plans. We pushed it further into the summer and held it completely outdoors. Technically it wouldn't be the first Fools Ride but the first time I would run it as an actual rally. My buddy Gabe and I used to do our first ride of the year (before I started riding year round) sometime around April 1 for a good four or five years up to that point.
Read about the Brush Creek Daytripper Rally on our website in a past article. I was still tearing around with my old V-Strom but the Husq TE310 needed to be pulled off the bench in order for me to finish running everyone through the gauntlet! A lot of the guys that came out to this first ride are still with me today, helping run sweep at various events, helping scout, and just riding and hanging out.

My first article in print was released in the November/December 2022 Issue No. 131 of Adventure Motorcycle Magazine.
I've run these suckers through the ringer by and and have been thoroughly impressed! Looking for better traction in the wet, muddy, and slippery conditions? Looking for a more comfortable and responsive stance? Looking for a high quality product produced by a small US business? Snag you a set of Traction Footpegs over at BlackDogCW.com
The highlights!
-They are bigger than your average peg...power steering with more surface area to move ADV boots around and help fight fatigue.
-Sit lower than your average peg...more comfortable sitting posture and the dab has a shorter shot to ground.
-Traction in the cockpit...designed to keep your feet planted and they come with additional threaded spikes that can be added when it gets super sloppy.
A potential concern...
-Wider footpegs can sn**ch objects in tighter trails/single track
Overall, the best footpegs I've used!

Ours might surprise a few of you. After all the day-dreaming before our journey began, I can honestly say that I never thought I'd have the skill or the opportunity to ride up the inside slopes of the second largest super volcano on the planet. Same ride, different name! There are many administrative and logistical tasks that go into putting on events, especially if the event is AMA Sanctioned and Insured. On top of that, permits by either the National Forest Service or State Foresters add a whole other level of paperwork. Still somewhat new to these many, many, many requirements I dropped the ball on the whole name thing when it came to our agreements with the Pennsylvania State Forests and Parks. Last year was the first time we held a pay event in the PA Wilds and set everything up with the name "Explore The PA Wilds Four Tour" for our Intermediate-Level tour. Long story short, much easier to keep the name and renew than to change the name and start from the beginning! So even though that is the official name, we will be running the "Hardcore Version" in 2023!.

There will be trail rides available on Timberline, Marienville, Penoke, and Rocky Gap. Willow Creek trails are included in the ANF Trail Pass but they are approximately one hour drive from camp. Tail, tank and saddle bags are some of the most useful and popular accessories for dual-sport and adventure motorcycles. Affordable, innovative options that work across multiple platforms are popular for riders that own multiple bikes.
