We're learning about a woman of many hats for #FunFactFriday! Mary Jane McLeod Bethune was a passionate educator, presidential advisor and civil rights activist.

Bethune founded the Daytona Normal and Industrial Institute in 1904, which later became Bethune-Cookman University, with only $1.50 in her pocket! 💵

Bethune also served as a special advisor to President Roosevelt on minority affairs and started her own civil rights organization, the National Council of Negro Women.
