📈 In March 2023, Virginia began the yearlong process of checking eligibility for 2.2 million Medicaid/FAMIS members for the first time since the pandemic started. The “Eligibility Redetermination Tracker” dashboard shows at-a-glance outcomes from this resumption of Medicaid/FAMIS renewals, including key demographic information about both those whose coverage has continued after renewal and those whose coverage has been terminated.

🎊 To-date, Virginia has completed more than 1.1 million renewals – over half of the 2.2 million it needed to complete during the yearlong period!

🏆Compared to other states, Virginia’s share of members who lost coverage for “procedural” reasons at their renewal is quite low: 6.7%. In some states, it is as high as 50%! This shows that Virginia’s efforts to reach members have helped!

👀 Take a look at the dashbaord for locality-level data, which can be valuable data for health safety net stakeholders especially, to see how many in their community have lost Medicaid since March 2023, as they may be in need of care and/or may be turning up at a safety net clinic and finding out they are now uninsured.

Today, we proudly announce the opening of the Inova Cares Clinic for Families (ICCF) and Inova Juniper Program (IJP) in Mount Vernon! When the Mount Vernon Community Health Needs Assessment identified healthcare access as a top Mount Vernon community health issue, we knew we had to take action. That's why we have expanded our ICCF and IJP programs to address this need and better serve the people of Mount Vernon and beyond.

The ICCF provides primary medical care services for families who are uninsured or underinsured across seven community locations, while the IJP provides care for people living with HIV/AIDS throughout Northern Virginia.

With this expansion, we are thrilled to make these programs accessible to everyone across Northern Virginia because they profoundly impact patient outcomes and the overall health of the communities we serve.
