Can you please help with my survey of current and former congressional members and staff? The survey is on the norms, or “informal rules,” of the U.S. Congress. It takes about ten minutes and your responses are completely confidential. Here is the link, which you can also forward to others:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BMT97Q6

Again, the survey is confidential – no information identifying you or where you have worked will be disclosed. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for your help!
Hey everyone! Wanted to pass along this opportunity to help inspire the next generation of (potential) public policy advocates!

Per one of the school's educators: "During one of our early DC trips our 8th graders started talking about how surprised they were to see so many young professional people of color in DC. Several students commented that it would be really exciting to move to DC, but they just couldn’t see themselves moving to a new city or finding a professional job. This planted the seed in our minds for the Young Professionals Dinner.

This annual event is a chance for our 8th graders to meet diverse individuals who live and work in DC to talk about their experiences and aspirations. We’re primarily looking for people of color who are working in government, industry, and non-profits who are in their twenties or early thirties. (We want our guests to be young enough for our students to relate to their lives and experiences!)"

"The National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA), formed a lobbying arm called the Congressional Committee in 1910 with the purpose of raising awareness in Congress about a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution enfranchising women. Drafted by Susan B. Anthony, the amendment was first introduced in Congress in 1878 but after one failed vote got no further. NAWSA tended to concentrate its efforts on winning the vote one state at a time rather than on pressing for passage of the amendment. Between 1890 and 1912, women won the vote in several western states and interest in the federal amendment stalled. The Congressional Committee succeeded in arranging hearings on Capitol Hill for the amendment. They rarely even spent the meager $10 that had been budgeted for their work....."
