This statement is for everyone. Give yourself the permission to be still and recharge.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise – you are enough.
During this time of year, you might see family and friends more than usual, you may feel pressure to accomplish something before the year ends, but listen to yourself and go at your own pace.

Taking care of you is a necessity not a luxury.
The 7 types of rest that every person needs Are you getting your seven or eight hours of sleep a night — yet you still feel exhausted? Here’s why that could be happening, according to physician Saundra Dalton-Smith.
"The hard choices — what we most fear doing, asking, saying — these are very often exactly what we most need to do."

Why you should define your fears instead of your goals The hard choices -- what we most fear doing, asking, saying -- are very often exactly what we need to do. How can we overcome self-paralysis and take action? Tim Ferriss encourages us to fully envision and write down our fears in detail, in a simple but powerful exercise he calls "fear-setting." Lea...
We, as a nation, have just celebrated our Independence Day. We know what that day means for our country but what does that day mean for you? What does it mean for you to have independence?
Independence Day Published: July 5, 2021. As Americans, we have just celebrated our Independence Day. Independence Day is a day when we, as a country, celebrate the fact that we are free from external control and constraint and to live a life of happiness.
Whose life are you living? Did you choose your path or was your path chosen for you? This past year, many of us took time to reflect on our lives, prioritize what is important, and make changes to get our lives moving in the direction we choose. What have you done to take control back over your life? What can you continue to do to remain in control of the life you are living?
Living the Life You Chose | by Carolyn Mooney | LinkedIn This is a line from a Jason Isbell song and it really got me thinking. What life am I living? Am I living a life that I chose or the life the chose me? What does that even mean? It means, did I consciously make the decisions that got me where I am today? Have I been living a life that has been on au
What do you do when life gets hard? Do you give up, give in, or do you push through and come out stronger on the other side? Not giving in or giving up is hard but is crucial to your growth, whether personal or professional, to push through that which is difficult, become stronger, and more importantly become exceptional.
Be Exceptional | by Carolyn Mooney | LinkedIn I was reading a book called “The Dip” by Seth Godin. In reading how Godin described “The Dip” I couldn’t help but think of how this concept can apply to our everyday lives.
What do you do when life doesn't work out the way you thought it would? Do you place blame or do you take responsibility on how you can make things better? Placing blame is the easy and wrong thing to do if you want to make life better. Taking responsibility for your actions, your behavior, your attitude means also taking responsibility of your success and happiness. Stop blaming and start owning the life you were given.
Self care and positive self talk are the foundation of success, happiness, and a joy filled life. Learn to start putting yourself first and you will begin to see everything else fall into place.
The Golden Rule The saying goes “do unto others as you would have done unto you”, otherwise known as the golden rule. Many of us treat others better than we treat ourselves.
Life is lived in the question. Learn to live in the question until the answer appears. Why lessons do the questions provide?
Live the Question As you can tell Rainier Maria Rilke has had a big influence on the way that I see and live through life. When reading “Letters to Young Poet” I often feel that he was speaking directly to me.
In the wise words of Rilke “Always trust in yourself and your own feeling, as opposed to argumentation, discussions, or introductions of that sort; if it turns out that you were wrong, then the natural growth of your inner life will eventually guide you to other insights. Allow your judgments their silent, undisturbed development, which, like all progress, must come from deep within and cannot be forced or hastened.”
Trusting In Yourself A fourth lesson that I have learned from Ranier Maria Rilke is trusting in oneself and in your own growth. Rilke writes “Always trust in yourself and your own feeling, as opposed to argumentation, discussions, or introductions of that sort; if it turns out that you were wrong, then the natural gro...
Many of us look for the easy in life. We are scared of challenge, scared of adversity, scared of difficulty. It is in the difficult that we should seek comfort as it is our compass pointing us in the right direction.
Trust in What is Difficult Another lesson I have learned from “Letters to a Young Poet” by poet Rainer Maria Rilke is trusting in what is difficult. In the words of Rilke: “Most people have turned their solutions toward what is easy and toward the easiest side of the easy; but it is clear that we must hold to what is di...
The sooner you realize you are in control of your own happiness, the happier you will become. Take control and choose happiness.
Taking Responsibility for Your Own Happiness Another lesson learned from Rilke’s “Letters to a Young Poet” is being responsible for your own happiness. Rilke explains to Kappos “If your everyday seems poor, do not blame it; blame yourself; admit to yourself that you are not enough of a poet to call forth its riches; because for the cre...
What is your passion and why is it important to name it in your life? Your passion is you're calling. Your passion is your purpose. Your passion is your imprint and mark you leave in the world.
Finding Your Passion One of my favorite books is “Letters to a Young Poet” by Rainer Maria Rilke. To say this book changed the way I see life is an understatement.
Fear failure no longer. Take the lessons that failure teaches us to become more successful.
Why We Need to Embrace Failure Why do we fear failure? Why is failure such an ugly word? I fail every day. I fail when I don’t run as fast or as far as I want.
Happiness is reached when you learn the difference between what you can and cannot control. Join me for a free event (zoom call) this Saturday at 11am to discuss what you can control and learn to let go of what controls you. Also, learn about how self care contributes to happiness. Self care is not a luxury, it is a necessity.
Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: In-Service Training: Self Care Options. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting. Many of us have struggled with self-care during this exceptionally difficult time. We share the same pain of juggling demanding careers, homeschooling, family obligations, loneliness and fear of what the future holds. Knowing that we're in this together, we're hoping you'll join us to talk about sel...
What is courage and what does it have to do with expectations? Why does it take courage to be the person you were meant to be? Why is courage hard? Learn the answers to these questions and more in this week's discussion around the topic of courage.
Courage and Expectations What does it mean to have courage? One of my favorite definitions of courage is: “Courage is being yourself everyday in a world that is telling you to be someone else.” Why is it so hard to have this definition of courage? Why is hard to be ourselves and why is the world telling us to be someone...
Why are boundaries important to set up and define? What do we do when people ignore those boundaries? How do boundaries impact our overall mental and emotional health? How do we set up boundaries and stick to them? Find out this week in "Setting Boundaries".
Setting Boundaries We all know someone who does not respect boundaries. Someone who does not acknowledge or respect the subtle hints, or at times, not so subtle hints outlining our boundaries.
