Why Should You Care About QR Codes Anyway? All businesses want customers to buy their product or service, but the act of making a “sale” is not always a straight line. Detours along the way to a sale, often involve steering customers and potential customers into your sales funnel. The concept of a sales funnel is that while prospects may n

Signage that Works
Simplicity is KEY! Signs should be designed for a “quick glance.” The next time you’re
driving on the freeway, think about the billboards that attract your
attention. The most effective ones will often have four key elements:
• Simple design
• Graphics that appeal to the target audience
• Easy-to-read font
• Minimal text
Here are a few tips for developing signage that will hit its mark:
• Determine your purpose (informational, motivational, emotional)
• Use color to grab attention and reinforce your brand and message
• Ensure the background enhances the text and takes the viewer through the message
• Select images that will relate to your target audience
• Construct an easy- to-read message; each word should have a purpose

A Birthday Invitation. This invite was designed around a country-hoedown theme, and created to set the tone for a western style bash. The invitation was also inspired by the fact that the host and the guest of honor are Executive Chiefs in DC.

Print Grows Trees | Spread the Word Having visited this site, we hope that you have a new perspective on the synergy between printing and the state of America’s woodlands and a better understanding of how print on paper can help private landowners keep our forests growing and healthy.

Many thanks to Pottery Barn who invited a few local vendors including us, Instinct Design, to speak about invitation design at their first Expo.
The grid is one of the most important tools a designer has at his/her disposal. They’ve always been a difficult thing to explain to clients, though luckily, the results speak for themselves. Also luckily, the clean, organized look they impart is en vogue right now, which means better design is becoming “hip,” for lack of a less unsavory term. — gridness.net

Why are grids so important in design? The grid is a system for organizing elements on a page. Taking into account the nature of the content and size of the page. Grids are especially useful in creating a consistent layout system for multi-page layouts (Web sites, mags, books) but are also helpful in creating harmonious comps for a single piece such as a poster. Instinct Design now has the ability to publish your for-print book, magazine, catalogue, brochure or flyer online in a turn-the-page format. This revolutionary technology will allow for more interaction and new advertising opportunities.
We feel that there is nothing that can replace the printed word. However, that does not mean that we can rest on our laurels and ignore the fact that technology has changed the world. The methods by which we disseminate materials are evolving.

There's an interesting article in The Loupe magazine about the relationship between marketing and the poor economy. "Companies that maintained or increased their market efforts during the 2001 recession were able to increase their market share and outperform those with decreased marketing by almost 250 percent."
