📆 Starting July 1st, Virginia University of Integrative Medicine (VUIM) Licensed Professional Practitioners of Acupuncture and clinical interns will be providing free 30 minute acupuncture treatments at the Life with Cancer Family Center to family members, support persons, and caretakers within Inova Peterson Life with Cancer on Mondays from 9AM - 1PM.

To participate in the LWC Caregiver Acupuncture Clinic, individuals must be 18 years or older and actively providing support to someone with an active cancer diagnosis. Patients themselves are not eligible for this acupuncture clinic. Running from June 1 to July 20, this drive benefits the children of University of Maryland Children's Hospital - Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital - Children's Cancer Program. The Toy Drive offers virtual donation options and physical drop-off locations in the DMV area, with the toy handoff event scheduled for July 30 and 31. In honor of (June 2), Inova Peterson Life with Cancer hosted an educational event celebrating and honoring cancer survivors! 🎗️

This event was an amazing opportunity for survivors to connect and learn from experts in survivorship care through a series of informative break-out sessions. From nutrition, sexual health, fear of recurrence and anxiety management to transitioning out of treatment and returning to life beyond cancer, the event was well received by participants. 💪
