⚠️ FCPD issues plea for safety to drivers, pedestrians after spate of fatal crashes

Fairfax County police urged drivers and pedestrians to slow down, stay sober and use crosswalks after five fatal crashes in 48 hours, including four that killed pedestrians. Police said speed, alcohol or reckless behavior were factors in the crashes, three of which occurred on Richmond Highway.

🏛️ Flanked by N. Va. lawmakers, Spanberger signs bills in Lorton to boost contraception access

Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed the Right to Contraception and Contraception Equity Act on Wednesday at Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton, joined by Northern Virginia lawmakers and local officials. The law protects access to birth control in Virginia and aims to reduce contraception costs statewide.

⚠️ Fairfax County reaches double-digit pedestrian deaths for 2026 after four in two days

Four pedestrians were killed in Fairfax County crashes over two days, including fatal incidents in Lincolnia, Merrifield, Seven Corners and Huntington. Police charged one driver with DUI, and the deaths bring the county’s pedestrian fatality total this year to 10.
