As a teacher, Silvia wants me to achieve my highest potential through participating in the Medal Tests that are offered to students. I have been fortunate enough to have her as my coach in the Medal Tests. Because of Silvia, I improve each and every time, as she wants all of her students to continue to progress to higher levels of dancing.
While teaching, Silvia does NOT allow me to speak negativity about myself. Her students must NOT put themselves down, say, "I can't", etc. Instead Silvia reminds us that the word "PERFECT" may not be in our vocabulary nor "Don't give up", as she patiently breaks down what needs to be corrected. She is great at sending videos to all her students to watch for practice.....and we better do our homework to help show our progress and improvement.
One of the most rewarding benefits is that Silvia is an outstanding choreographer when working with me. She is always willing to and wanting for me to dance to perform for others, as in a showcase. The constant JOY that exudes from Silvia is contagious as our lessons are always filled with laughter. Her dance ability and years of experiences makes me, as a student, feel as though, "We just did a GREAT job, all that hard work and practice was worth it." At the end of each performance there's a true feeling of accomplishment and puts smiles on our faces!
To have Silvia Beltran as a teacher, is like being a kid in a candy shop with an unlimited amount of money!
This is how I feel as her dance student: To know Sil, and have her as MY teacher, brings LIFE and CARING to my Heart, Body and Mind.
