Camille Kouyoumdjian Fine Art
Camille Kouyoumdjian utilizes the power of mixed media to create environmentally conscious artwork. I work in acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media.
My paintings are inspired by nature, seasonal changes, travel, and imaginary dreamscapes. While I may begin with a photograph or natural scenery, my paintings take on a life of their own, becoming more abstract or expressionist.

Del Ray Artisans is seeking artwork that explores the emotionally resonant power of art to inspire and raise awareness about climate change and its impact on marginalized communities. Around the world, people are forced to leave their homes due to drought, flooding and wildfires. Economic disparity is exacerbated by climate events, resulting in food insecurity, loss of homes and jobs, and increasing public health threats. Climate change quickly equates to climate (in)justice. However, by raising awareness about the disproportionate impacts of climate change on low-income communities and communities of color around the world, we can create a more just approach to saving our planet. Art holds the power to portray what words so often miss. By conveying environmental issues through the universal languages of image and feeling, we can encourage action towards a just, climate-friendly future.
This exhibit is being held in partnership with the Changing Planet Justice (CPJ) Foundation, which empowers youth to lead climate action in their communities. Climate justice is particularly relevant to youth, because they will bear the brunt of environmental degradation for decades to come, yet their voices often go unheard. CPJ provides a platform for youth of all backgrounds to share climate justice-related art, writing, and photography with their peers internationally. Additionally, CPJ offers leadership certification so that young people are empowered to advocate for a more just and climate-friendly future. Youth are encouraged to apply for this exhibit.
During the exhibit, donations may be made to CPJ to help further youth-led climate action. There will be donation boxes during the reception and throughout the show. Donations may also be made directly to CPJ. Del Ray Artisans nonprofit retains a 20% commission on artwork sales to defray exhibit costs; artists and collectors may choose to donate additionally to the CPJ foundation (no requirement).
The curator is looking for a wide array of artists' interpretations of the impacts of climate justice—in any medium, such as painting, photography, digital art, sculpture, ceramics, and especially recycled or repurposed art media that brings the concept of climate justice to life.
The Visions of Resilience: Art for Climate Justice exhibit is open to all area artists and high school students. Del Ray Artisans members (join now) pay a lower entry fee, and high school students pay no fee (free). Youths’ artwork will also be considered for publication on the CPJ blog, at the discretion of CPJ’s executive director.
Entry to this exhibit is by online submission. Art may be two- or three-dimensional, and in any medium. No strict size limits, but please be considerate of other artists and the physical limits of the gallery before entering oversized pieces. Oversized pieces of merit will be accepted if space permits. If submitting a multi-piece 2D artwork (such as a diptych or triptych), all parts must be framed together into one piece unless cleared in advance with the curator. Art should be ready to hang or display with wire and screw eyes, mounting and/or display stand, framed, matted, or with edges finished. We cannot show work that is not ready for exhibition.

The warm and generous people of the High, Atlas Mountains are facing insurmountable challenges in the face of the devastating earthquake. Thousands of lives have already been lost. When we were in Morocco in March, we were touched by the beauty and generosity of the landscape and its people. We had the opportunity to meet with a The High Atlas foundation at their headquarters in Marrakesh. We were impressed with their community centered approach on empowerment initiatives for women, youth, and climate change. They are in a unique position to help, the communities directly affected by the earthquake. A portion of all proceeds from my artwork will be donated to the High Atlas foundation. Please contribute whatever you can, no matter how small or large. Every dollar counts.
