Appreciating this lovely print of “Catherine Smith Gill and two of her children”. It mixes precise detail with an impressionistic background and I find that concept interesting. It’s hard to believe artist, James Tissot, declined an invitation by Degas himself but just goes to show you there are treasures and talent everywhere waiting yet to be discovered and known! Plus it reminds me of the girls! Original painting hangs at National Liverpool Museum
