Is this my cousin?
Is it possible to bring you a pot for you to fill with fabulous succulents?
Thank you so much from everyone at Bangor Vet for bringing a bit of sunshine to this dreary day.
Thank you to all who visited us at Maine Marketplace during Homecoming weekend at the University of Maine. We set-up in the field house and enjoyed a busy day of greeting visitors and other vendors, like our neighbors, Brick House Succulents! Outside the weather was gorgeous while the University marching band and football team played.

A perfect fall day!
Thank-you for hosting our Sebasticook Garden Club the other day! I had a wonderful time learned so much about succulents, and bought one to take home. I look forward to stopping in to visit again sometime and may see you at the Common Ground Fair!

Succulent Pumpkin time!!!!
Saturday October 16th at 11:00am
Rain date: Saturday October 23rd at 11:00am
Please read full description as there will be some adjustments to this class because of the pandemic.

I don’t know about you, but I love fall and what could be better than combining pumpkins and succulents??? I may even have to bring chocolate to this class so that we may all enter Nirvana for a moment! If you haven’t guessed, this will be a class on how to plant succulents right on top of a pumpkin for a lovely and unique fall arrangement. These arrangements will last through the fall and make wonderful place settings for any holiday table. We will use small pumpkins in class but any size works well. This class would be great for children, 8 years old and up, as the process is quite simple but the outcome always stunning.

*********Because of the ongoing pandemic*******

we will be holding this class outside, folks will be appropriately spaced, and masks will be required for all individuals who attend. If you do not want to ware a mask or do not feel safe attending gatherings, we are happy to make up kits that you can pick up at 10:00am on October 16th, or in the event of rain, October 23rd.

Please dress appropriately because if it’s not raining this class is a go, even if it’s cold outside. Also, registration is critical so that we can get folks spaced properly or so that we can have kits ready for folks to pick up – so please email ([email protected]) or call (207-735-5005) and leave a message with your name, phone number, whether you will attend in person or will be picking up, and either number of folks attending with you that can sit closely to you, or number of kits you will be picking up.

Thank you so much and we can’t wait to have some fun decorating pumpkins with you!

When: 11:00 am, Saturday October 16th 2021. Rain date is Saturday October 23rd at 11:00am.

Cost: $15 for gourd size; $25 for a pie pumpkin

Day 24
I am going to take a couple days off to let my driveway sort out its issues🤦‍♀️. I’ll get back to ”bombarding” you with succulent pictures soon😊🌵. Enjoy this beautiful day!

12/06/2020

Day 23
$13.00 -- 4" potted Unknown species, some kind of Jade. I will ship for an additional $10.00. How about some green on this very white day?! Hope everyone has their power back. This jade has very beautiful flowers in late summer.

12/05/2020

Day 22 (missed day 21...oops)
$13.00 -- 4" potted Pachyveria Blue or Echeveria Blue (I can't remember which species it is, sorry). I choose this plant because I thought we would all enjoy a flower on this dark day--can you see the flower? Folks ask me quite frequently about succulent flowers, and while I think they are all spectacular (how else would we have more succulents?!) I'm not sure that all folks would agree. Many of the succulent flowers (in my collection) are very similar to the one in this picture. Up high on a "stalk" and very petite. I find a real delicate beauty in them, they are not flaunting themselves, but rather presenting themselves to those of us who are looking, and waiting, and grateful for them, for their own sake.

A little PSA from Brick House Succulents

12/03/2020

Day 20
$13.00-- 4" potted Crassula ovata (maybe "Hobbit"). I would ship this plant. A classic succulent -- easy, well behaved, and beautiful.

12/02/2020

Day 19
$13.00 -- 4" clay potted Echeveria Nodulosa. I will ship.

12/02/2020

Day 19
$13.00 -- 4" clay potted Echeveria Nodulosa. I will ship for an additional $10.00. Beautiful Echeveria.

12/01/2020

Day 18
$15.00 -- 6" plastic potted Sedum clavatum. No shipping, sorry. One of my favorites--great in arrangements and as a single specimen. Not a perennial in Maine, must be brought in during the winter months. I should have mentioned this from the start of the "365 Days of Plants" that all of my species unless I mention otherwise must be indoors during the winter--even the Sedums.

12/01/2020

Phew! What a storm!!!!
Day 18
$7.00 -- 4" plastic potted Eceveria Black Prince. I will ship this one. Very nice Eceveria.

11/30/2020

Day 17
$10.00 -- 6ish" by 2.5ish" rectangular potted Sedeveria Jet Beads. No shipping on this one. I thought I'd post a "wild one" in honor of the wild night we are about to have. Stay safe everyone!

11/29/2020

Day 16
$60.00 -- 12ish" clay potted Aloe, unknown species. Too large to ship. Very beautiful specimen. The red coloration comes from keeping it in full sun, dry soil, and either cool in the winter (55 degrees F) or hot in the summer (80 + degrees F). If it starts to get "comfortable" (lower light, adequate water, consistent warm temperature) it will turn more green.

Photos from Brick House Succulents's post 11/27/2020

Day 14
$35.00 -- 6" - 8" Unknown species. Too large to ship. Has a crack in the clay pot, other than that, simple beautiful specimen.

11/27/2020

Day 14
$30.00 -- 8ish" plastic potted Stepelia Hardyi ("Dead Man's Fingers"). Sorry too delicate to ship, must pick up. This is a fascinating plant. It's flower is a very pretty burgundy colored and star shaped. A must have for collectors.

11/27/2020

Day 14
$50.00 -- 12ish" clay potted Unknown species. Sorry no shipping on this one too large and heavy.

11/27/2020

Day 13
$13.00 -- 4" potted Crassula pellucida ("Calico Kitten"). No shipping on this one, please pick up. I thought I would showcase a bright, colorful plant on this dark and rainy day. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

11/24/2020

Day 11
$10.00 -- 4" potted Unknown Agave. Too sharp to ship.

11/21/2020

Day 8
$13.00 -- 4" potted Sedum nussbaumerianum. Too delicate to ship, sorry. This Sedum must stay indoors in the winter, it can be moved outside in the summer. Sorry for the chipping paint on this clay pot.

11/20/2020

Day 7
$40.00 -- 8" potted Crassula ovata Hobbit (I think). Too large to ship. Wonderful indoor succulent. Great for beginners!

11/20/2020

Day 7
$20.00 -- 8" potted Euphorbia Tirucalli ("Firesticks"). Too large to ship, sorry. This plant grows to be 4' to 8'. In Brazil it is used as a hedge. In traditional Euphorbia fashion, this plants excretes a milky sap called latex. Take caution when handling Euphorbia Tirucalli as it can be a skin and eye irritant. Although this secretion is very beneficial to the plant as it acts a anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agent.

Photos from Brick House Succulents's post 11/19/2020

Day 6
$20 -- 6"-8" potted Variegated Agave. I do not dare to ship. This plant is SHARP (but beautiful).

11/19/2020

Day 6
$15 -- 4" Potted Aloe eastero (I think). I am willing to ship after Nov. 24th for an additional $10.00. This beauty is from a collection of aloes that a very kind women gifted me years ago. She had tags in all of the plants she gave me, but in some cases they were very hard to read. She said some of the aloes in her collection were very rare. I believe this is one of the rarer varieties of aloes...maybe?!

11/18/2020

Day 5
$20 -- 6ish inch potted Aloe Vera. Too large to ship, sorry. Anyone heating with a wood stove this winter? This is the plant for you! Great for healing burns in the winter and sunburns in the summer.

11/17/2020

Day 4 (succulents gone wild!)
$13 --4ish" pot. Two Unknown species, one is in the Aloe family the other is completely unknown to me--sorry! This one I do not dare to ship because the burgundy colored one "falls" all apart as soon as you touch it. It came in one of my succulents long ago and continues to act like a week in the greenhouse.

Photos from Brick House Succulents's post 11/16/2020

Day 3
$5.00 -- 2.5" potted Aeonium arboretum (I think). I would ship for an additional $10.00. If you like a good plant challenge this is the plant for you. This is one of the very few succulents I have a hard time growing, we just never hit it off. Love it as I may, I am finally saying good-buy and good luck to whom ever dares to try to grow this particular variety!

11/15/2020

Day 2
$20.00 -- 5" or 6" pot Unknown species. I might dare to ship this one to a hearty succulent fan, as long as they know that if one of the "heads" breaks off they will just have to re-root it in soil. I'm culling the herd so to speak and found this gem amid the many mother plants I have. Its amazing, once I started really looking in my greenhouse, to see the plants I have collected. I don't even remember where this one came from or when I got it. I have the succulent addition bad!
P.s. it's a twofer there is little piece of Stepelia Hardyi in the pot😊.
