The Bayfront has always been part of Erie's story, but now more than ever, it must be part of , written by the vision, hopes, and dreams of our community.

Led by Infinite Erie, One Bayfront is a community-driven blueprint that puts public engagement first, ensuring residents help shape decisions before they are made, not after. Through surveys, public meetings, and community conversations, residents will have opportunities to share their ideas, priorities, and vision for the future of our waterfront.

Join the conversation as we work to move Erie .

As Erie celebrates Pride this month, I've been reflecting on the conversations many residents have been having over the past few days following an exchange during this week's City Council meeting.

At its core, this moment is about more than politics or any one individual. It's about how we treat one another and what we expect from those entrusted to lead.

Every person deserves to be seen, respected, and recognized for who they are. When we fail to extend that basic dignity to one another, it sends a messageโ€”not only to the people directly involved, but to everyone watching.

For many LGBTQ residents, especially young people, moments like this can raise painful questions about belonging, acceptance, and whether they will be respected for who they are. Those are questions no one should have to ask in the community they call home.

This weekend and beyond, I want our LGBTQ neighbors to hear this clearly: you belong here. You are valued. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

We will not always agree. But being a community means recognizing one another's humanity and treating one another with care, even in moments of disagreement.

That is how trust is built. That is how we strengthen our city. And that is the Erie I will continue working to build.
