📚 Back to School Help Needed! 🎒
As we gear up for the new school year, we're collecting clear bookbags and essential school supplies for the children living in our shelter. Every child deserves to feel confident and prepared on their first day of school—and your support can make that happen!

From notebooks and pencils to crayons and glue sticks, your donations help our kids walk into the classroom ready to learn.

📍 All items must be dropped off at Community Shelter Services by August 8th. (CSS Admin Entrance on W. 17th Street)

Monetary donations are also accepted and will go directly toward purchasing supplies for the kids.

A beautiful day to say thank you to our Lodge on Sass Residents! They were treated to hamburgers, fried chicken, pasta salad, fruit salad and a new 40 oz cup!

Congratulations to our Development Director, Fontaine, on being named Employee of the Year!

Since joining the CSS team in 2022, Fontaine has helped advance the agency’s mission by setting new record highs for fundraisers including the annual Housing 'Fore' All Golf Outing, Erie Gives, and Bingo Bash. Her favorite part of the job? Seeing the impact of CSS’s work firsthand—through successful fundraising efforts, the growth of the Tiny Home Village, and partnerships with other organizations that support those experiencing homelessness in Erie County.

Over the weekend we hosted a special luncheon to recognize and appreciate the fathers in our shelter. It was a meaningful way to show our gratitude and share a meal together! 👨‍👧‍👦

Nothing says summer like a surprise ice cream treat! 🍦

Today we got to spread some smiles and sprinkles by treating the kids, adult, and neighbors to a sweet break on this warm day. There’s nothing better than sharing joy one scoop at a time! 

CSS and the Kiwanis Club of Erie teamed up this morning to clean up the roads! Thanks to everyone who showed up and helped make our community look awesome!

Thank you Erie SeaWolves for having us at the game last night as Non-Profit of the Night! Plus they got the win! Go Seawolves!

This morning, we served up a hot meal for the Kiwanis Caring Kitchen—a special treat for all the kids and adults who stopped by for breakfast! 🍳

We were blessed to have a beautiful day for volunteers from Church of the Cross, Erie, PA to fill the flower boxes with vibrant, fresh flowers! Thank you ladies for stopping by to help beautify our tiny homes 🌸

While we have cherished a long-standing and meaningful community partnership with All An Act Theatre Productions, we have made the decision to move forward in a way that allows us to further our mission of serving Erie’s homeless community.

At Community Shelter Services, we provide support and shelter to more than 350 individuals every night through our emergency shelter and other programs. As the need for our services continues to grow, this shift represents another step in our commitment to creating pathways to housing, help, and hope for those who need it most.

We are grateful for the years of collaboration and wish All An Act Theatre Productions continued success in their future.
