Sport Fishing Adventures on lake Erie for Walleye, Steelhead, and Many other sport fish It is often how you handle those days that separate Captains.

Success in the late 80’s and 90’s was a box full of fish; I guess that was just my youth which created that attitude. Now, a successful day on the water for me and my clients is first being comfortable, safe and having a good experience. The experience and the time well spent can more that offset a tough day on the water because “there will be tough days”, no matter how good I am or any Captain is

Well, gotta report good with the bad!! Thats how roll.
Day 2 at Orleans and it wasnt any easier. With no hope of cashing a check we just went fishing. Managed 5 to weigh, lost a couple and released a couple small salmon. Would have finished a strong 13th if weighed Ssturday 🥹 but didnt… Grind!! Amazing how the fishing can turn around but it happens when the “transition “ period strikes! We haven’t seen it for 2 or 3 years but those who have been around know and hate this period!
Big congratulations to Captain Rob of Legacy for a big win and making the right choices and landing their fish.

Wild two day reversal for me… 😞
Friday we charter pre-fished and entered the King of Oak best 3 fish event at Oak Ochard. This
Precedes the Oak Orchard Open.
We left out of Wilson Friday am had one of our best day/box of the year boxing 15 kings, 3 coho and 2 lakers (boated 4) and even had time to breakdown and blow out looking for steelhead (unsuccessfully )which are big part of the OOOpen. Their worth 20 points… We took 5th in the KOTO out of 22 teams. 👍
Day 1 of OOO, we burn 23 miles west start fishing on our best big king line from day prior but screen sux. Dead calm, sunny conditions upon us and we take 2 bites first two hours. Uh oh.. We pull and run further west. Dug a hole quickly .,.Nada.. no-one moving rods around us. Time to fly again…We pull and change game plan. Lets try to catch 5 elusive steelhead and try to get a couple offshore kings also. If were successful, were back in the game quickly because steelhead are worth double… We covered 8 miles trolling while bombing North looking for a good bite. We boat 2 nice coho and a small king and lost a steelhead or Ho that jumped 2X. At noon, Im bored amd had nuff that water and we pull n run in to get our 3 allowable lakers. We went 4/5 on lakers in about 70 minutes then redeployed a salmon program and trolled to port and go biteless…. Knowing our box was not good, we opted not to weigh in knowing it’s probably game over for us with a 80 point box. 😌😌😌😌😌😌. Once in, we heard everyone had a grind from east to west today. WTH happened overnight??
So I go from best box of 2025 to worst in 24 hours… Ughhh
New day tomorrow tho.
Congratulations to Captain Rob of Legacy for his day #1 lead. Good job Amigo.

Twas a good morning out of Wilson. Meat and DW mags did the damage. Nice to put a few big kings in the white coffin! Boom shakers 👍
The A Tom Mik Terminator tandem singles teamed with A Tom Mik meat were perfect, even on small sharks n hos!
