Erie Pa's Chapter of the National Flag Foundation. The Tri-States Largest, 30' x 60' ft, United States of America Flag. The original pole was over 150'.
Before Sept 11th, 2001 Charles E Brendel was asked by Erie County Council and a few military personal in Erie to part take in purchasing a flag pole and an American flag to waved in Erie County. The site was picked, Fairview Industral Park, and they began the process of raising funds and promoting this patriotic feet. Sept 11th happen and that changed everything. General information
With a strong focus on youth, the Foundation's mission is to teach respect for the US Flag, pride in our country, and responsible citizenship. National Flag Foundation is -- The Voice of United States Flag Education.
We teach and serve through the following five programs:
1. Young PatriotsTM: our multimedia program (videos, DVDs,and internet websites) designed for grades K – 12. With sponsorships from individuals, corporations and foundations, National Flag Foundation is placing Young Patriots™ in schools throughout the country and American schools overseas.
2. Flags Across America®: a program designed to create awe-inspiring, Flag Day (June 14) celebrations across the nation.
3. American Pride Print Series: posters, pictures, booklets, brochures and other print media that provide flag history, etiquette, and inspirational stories. This includes our New Constellation newsletter and Flag Fact series. The American art prints are ideal for home, office, and school.
