Good morning Friends! Happy Thursday!

We’ve decided to run our “Thankful Thursday” Promotion today.

Although we have much to be thankful for, today, we want to point out the efforts of VisitErie and their promotion of Erie Restaurant week. Visiterie, combined with the efforts of the sponsorship of Erie News Now have been putting together an awesome effort to promote this event.

Traditionally this is a slower time of year for the food service industry as everybody is trying to eat right, with their New Year's diet resolutions; funds are tight as families are still paying for the holidays they financed or overspent on; people are trying to adhere to their budgets, etc etc. Their timing of this event is spot on.

While last year may have ended strong for peak periods for food service, many mom and pop locals were hit hard by the massive snowfalls that crushed a typical busy time of year. Small business Saturday was not spared by Mother Nature either. Combine that with the major holidays falling in the middle of a week, many small businesses have been hit hard.

Not only for the reasons mentioned above, as there are too many to list, we give our sincere thanks to Visiterie and their sponsors. If you have not seen their efforts in action please take the time to check it out. They have earnerd our kudos for the day!

Now, for your thoughts on Thankful Thursday, it’s your turn to nominate someone or an organization you are thankful for. You know the drill:
