Last evening, while out scouting locations for an upcoming photo shoot, I found myself drawn once again to the iconic Presque Isle Lighthouse. With the sun beginning its descent and the sky transforming into a canvas of warm hues, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to snap a few photos. The lighthouse stood tall and timeless against the backdrop of yet another famous Presque Isle sunset, a scene that never fails to inspire and remind me why this place is such a photographic treasure.

A perfect panoramic shot of the Presque Isle Lighthouse at dusk! As the evening rolled in, clouds began to quietly gather across the sky, adding just the right mood to the moment. It was an amazing night to be out, soaking in the peaceful sights and sounds of Presque Isle State Park. There’s just something special about this place as day turns to night.

The Gannon University arch stands tall in the heart of campus, a proud and enduring symbol of tradition and transition.

Over the years, it has become a favorite photo spot especially for incoming students eager to mark the start of their journey, and for graduates celebrating the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

Whether framed by autumn leaves or spring blossoms, the arch captures more than just a moment, it holds the spirit of the Gannon experience, where every step taken beneath it tells a story.

Wanting to take advantage of the beautiful weather today, I took a leisurely drive around Presque Isle State Park. With my camera in tow, I couldn’t resist stopping to capture the stunning view across Presque Isle Bay, looking out toward the Bayfront and downtown skyline. Puffy white clouds drifted lazily across the sky, and a gentle breeze carried the scent of spring off the water. It was one of those perfect days…calm, clear, and just right for soaking in the natural beauty that surrounds us.

It wasn’t too long ago that the fountain at Griswold Park was turned on for the season. While it’s certainly not the biggest fountain in town, it brings a familiar charm to the heart of Griswold Plaza.

The gentle rise and fall of its water, catching sunlight in a playful shimmer, adds just the right touch to the quiet green space.

For regular passersby and visitors alike, its return marks a simple but welcome sign that warmer days are here to stay.

As we embrace the unofficial start of summer, let us also take a moment to reflect on the deeper meaning of Memorial Day.

This day is more than a seasonal milestone; it is a solemn tribute to the courageous men and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation and the freedoms we hold dear. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the liberty we enjoy today.

As we come together this Memorial Day weekend, may we pause to honor their memory and express our profound gratitude. These heroes served with valor and gave everything so that future generations could live in peace and possibility.

Let us remember that the true spirit of Memorial Day lies in both remembrance and action, in living lives worthy of their sacrifice and upholding the ideals for which they fought.

With family in town this weekend, we made our way to the Glow Wild Chinese Lantern Festival at the Erie Zoo and wow, what a fantastic and amazing scene! It far exceeded anything I was expecting.

Everywhere you turned, a new animal came to life in glowing, vibrant color each lantern more elaborate and breathtaking than the last. From towering giraffes to brilliant peacocks and playful lions, the zoo was completely transformed into a wonderland of light and creativity.

This was the first year the zoo hosted this festival, and they absolutely nailed it. Here’s hoping it becomes a yearly tradition!! Erie needs this kind of magic every year!!
