As we are over halfway through National Boating Week, be sure to watch for obstacles on the water.🛶🌳
Watch for fallen trees, rocks, and hidden debris that can create tricky currents and dangerous entrapments. Keep your kayak or canoe pointed downstream and avoid drifting sideways to stay in control and enjoy the ride safely.

Sucker Fiesta 2026
Despite the conditions, ladies showed up with their A-games Sunday April 19, 2026. Incredibly awesome seeing women from all over connecting, learning, and getting after it on the water. And the fishing somewhat delivered for just about blown out conditions! We landed multiple sucker species, smallmouth bass, stocked brown trout, and both adult & baby Steelhead 🐟🎣!
Queen of the Suckers Melanie Krott
Her beautiful sucker was just over 21” in length!
Queen of Trash Charlie Sturtz
Who collected a large aluminum rectangle (old sign?) along with an entire bag of other refuse.
Huge thank you to my cohost Danielle Teed!
Additionally, massive thank you to High N Dry Fishing Products and FishUSA Pro Shop for providing a range of their fishing products from sighter wax to a Steelhead/Trout Landing Net!

Northwest PA Fishing Report —
It's stocked Trout Season in Pennsylvania! Make sure you have a trout stamp on your Pennsylvania fishing license, grab your favorite rod, and go hook into some fish. Yesterday, I fished waters I am very familiar with and then ventured into some new, smaller watersheds to fish. There's a bunch of access in every corner of the state; here's the map to search: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/733dd58067ab453f954aa78598ab5a01
If you're fishing a stocked stream and happen to know there are wild Brook Trout in it, I encourage you to keep your limit of stocked trout and consider making some trout dip. Here's a great recipe: https://www.themeateater.com/cook/recipes/smoked-fish-dip-recipe
Spring is an absolutely dynamite time of year to be outside in Pennsylvania! Tight Lines 🐟
