Our baseball season has come to an end for the 10AA team going 3-2 at their state tournament and the 11A team going 1-2 at theirs. The 12AA team is still battling I believe. Thanks again to parents, coaches and umpires for making this season a success in Ellsworth. Next up will be tryouts for Spring 2024 ball.

12AA went 4-0 today and heads into more bracket play tomorrow. Way to go boys!

In town softball is in full swing! One more week left and then it’s fall ball time for those playing travel ball at the 10U, 12U and 14U levels. Big shout out to Jeff Fahrendorff and Kristin Helgeson who worked so hard to organize this years intown program. It takes time and volunteers to make this happen every year and give kids these opportunities in Ellsworth. We appreciate each and every parent who stepped up to coach or help out this summer and the board will continue to need your help in the future to continue these programs.

Good luck to the 14U Ellsworth Panthers Softball at the Tier 3 State Tournament this weekend in Becker, MN. First game on Saturday is against St Louis Park at 9 am at the Becker Middle School.

Good luck to our 10AA, 11A, and 12AA teams that qualified for the MBT State Tournament that started today. All three teams had pool play start today.

11A plays at 11 am and 3 pm
10AA plays at 11 and 3 pm

They all have a third pool play game tomorrow morning. They will move onto bracket play based on how they do in pool play

Congrats to the 12AA baseball team on an amazing season. The boys made an amazing run through the playoffs with a tough 4-3 loss at home last night, one game shy of the champions ship game. However, they are in action this weekend at the State tournament.

We wish the 10AA, 11A and 12AA team all the best this upcoming weekend at their state tournaments. I believe it was a great learning season for all our our teams. Thanks so much to parents and coaches for supporting your players.

We are down to one baseball team still going in the playoffs. The 11A team will be playing in the semifinals in Edina tomorrow. Out of 38 teams they are guaranteed nothing lower than 4th! Such a great group of boys. Never a dull moment and always keeping their fans on their toes. Good Luck boys!

Good luck this coming week to the 12AA and 11A baseball teams as they continue their playoff run. 12AA is playing at Browns Fielda at 6pm Monday night.

13AA lost a heartbreaker in Osceola last Thursday 11-10 due to time expiring. It’s been a great season boys.

Good Luck today to the 14U Ellsworth Panthers Softball team at their State Qualifier. The team went 3-1 in tournament play yesterday and will play next weekend in their State Tournament.

Once again, the EBSA is partnering with Clyde’s Bar and Grill for our annual fundraiser! The 2023 Fundraiser will be held on August 26th. Many events will be held throughout the day including - UTV ride departing at 11am, Crawfish Boil, Live Band, along with the EBSA hosting 50/50 cash raffles, $10 cups for unlimited beer, and cash raffle drawing at 6pm. (Max of 400 raffle tickets to be sold). Tickets are $20.00 each.

Thanks again for your continued support. Each Spring softball and baseball coach should be distributing tickets to their players to sell or you, you can purchase them at Clydes, or contact Board Members Julie Stoltenberg, Paul Langer or Lisa Acker to purchase between now and the August 25th.

This year the EBSA has used funds to purchase red rock for the fields, a new bases/supply box near the fields, painting of the baseball dugouts, purchased new covers for the baseball field and new windscreens for the lower field dugouts. The windscreens have not arrived yet.

We will also be purchasing a new yard tractor/utv to use for dragging the fields, accepting bids to build a pavillion cover of the cement slab by the two lower fields, and looking at costs and possible construction of a small playground area and a batting cage or two.

We are carefully looking at the needs at Browns Field and how best to utilize our funds to benefit the most participants and improve the facility. Some of these projects will require some volunteer assistance to prep for and install and may be fall projects or 2024 projects.

12A Baseball wrapped up their season on Monday night at Browns field with a playoff loss but Issac Yunker had a big night with a homerun in the game. Congrats on your homerun. Love that big smile.

BUS GARAGE Field Info for this week for Intown baseball and 13AA Baseball playoff games.

The school has notified us the bus garage blacktop will be blocked off starting today through Wednesday morning. Everyone will need to park in the lower high school parking lot by the football field and walk down the sidewalk to the bus garage field. You will not be able to access this lot from the West (on S. Park/W. Elm Street). You MUST enter the lot from S. Piety Street and drive past EES to EHS.

12u Black Softball capped off their spring season with a parents vs girls game followed by a cook out. The parents let the girls down easily, letting them win…. Or so the parents think. We wish to thank the coaches, league, parents and girls for all the hard work!

The 12U Purple Softball team went 2-2 at their State Tournament this weekend. I think the smiles tell the story of the fun that was had. Thanks to the coaches, players and parents who supported the girls this season.

Congratulations to the 10U Purple on their Third place finish at the Tier 5 State Tournament this weekend. The girls went 3-2. Thank you to all the coaches, fans and parents for your support this season.

Our 10U Black Softball team had a great run at their State tournament. These girls played four games yesterday and one today to finish 8th with a 3-2 record on the weekend. You ladies played hard and have grown so much this season. Thank you coaches and parents.

Some 10U and 12U State Qualifier action this past weekend. Rain delays and lots of smiles. I think there were even some dance parties!

An e-mail will be coming out later today or tomorrow to all those in our softball e-mail list. Please feel free to share. We will field teams at 10U, 12U, 14U and HS if we have adequate numbers (and pitchers and catchers at each age group).

Team placement is determined by your players age as of August 31, 2023. This is different than previous years. This change comes directly from MN Softball. This will be in effect for fall and spring softball.

There is a late fee for any registration after July 14, 2023. If cost is an issue, please look for the scholarship information on our website. This is a new program adopted by the EBSA this year.

Cheese Curd Festival is this weekend and they are still short several volunteers for Saturday afternoon/evening shifts (3pm and later). If anyone would like to volunteer to take a shift you can satisfy volunteer hours and earn money for the EBSA program.

As we near the end of the season we still need your help keeping things looking nice at Browns Field Complex. Even after your team is done for the Spring season, the ballfields still need attention. The flower beds will still need watering and weeded.

Our complex is solely owned by the EBSA, which is an entirely volunteer organization. Any parent that has a player on a travel baseball or travel softball team is a "member" of the Ellsworth Baseball and Softball Association (EBSA). All financial obligations, repairs, upgrades, needs related to the field are paid for with your registration fees and fundraising.

We have a couple of scheduled clean-up weeks left at Browns Field.

June 19-25; 13AA, 10U Purple
June 26-July 2; 14AA, 14U

Thank you to every parent that has helped out, whether it was your week or not. It has made a huge difference in keeping things looking nice at Browns Field this year. Hopefully we can continue this trend next year and it has helped fulfill volunteer hours for parents.

Another busy week and weekend of softball and baseball. 10U Purple finished 2nd in the Gold Bracket at the Menomonie Tournament and I believe we had 12A and 12AA baseball playing in New Richmond. We also had 12U Black softball, 10U Black Softball and 10A baseball teams playing in tournaments. Softball heads into their playoffs this coming weekend for 10u and 12u. Hard to believe their spring season is almost over.
