Due to all the cool weather you may wait to pick your containers through May 4.
It’s better for them to be in the greenhouse at Riverside Farms than in your garage. Bringing them in and out during these cool days will be “shocking” for the plants. Keeping them warm in a greenhouse environment will be best.
So see you later in the week or next week. We’ll keep them happy and healthy until Mother Nature cooperates.
Pick up starts Tuesday, April 26 at Riverside Farms from 9AM to 5PM

One week till we open the doors for the season. We still have lots of construction going right now. New Greenhouse is looking good still have some work to do before opening day Friday 4/22/22. We know it’s cold but it’s going to warm up, we promise. Can’t wait to see all the smiles.

Some things to remember as we move through May in Minnesota 🌞
*Even though it is warm right now, there is always a threat of cold nights until we get past Memorial Day.
If they do happen, don't forget to cover tender plants or bring tubs and baskets inside.
Also, remember that your garage, unless heated, is still susceptible to those cold temps and may not offer the protection your plants need. If your plants do get cold overnight and turn up droopy in the morning, STOP.
Do not water them or throw them out, because they may simply need to warm up. Let them be until the day has warmed up a bit and then check on them.
*Plants like water, but not too much. Most outdoor plants will do well with a good watering every day. Some plants, like Portulaca and Begonias, don't need much water at all.
If it is supposed to rain for 24 hours like it did last weekend, consider moving your tubs and baskets to a covered location so they don't drown.
If it is dry, sunny all day, or windy outside they may need to be watered more frequently. Each plant is different, and has different needs.

OPEN to the public today. It’s been a beautiful busy day as everyone has been out picking flowers out for the yard. 🌸 🌺💐🌷🌼. Spring is finally in full swing. We are open 9-5 through this weekend then regular hours starting Monday. Hope to see everyone out enjoying the weather and staying safe. We are following our CDC, social distancing guidelines and also constant disinfecting. @ Elk River, Minnesota
