Every week I speak to Chambers of Commerce, Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, and other businesses and service organizations about the incredible power of gratitude with a 30-minute talk entitled:
“Maximizing Your Gratitude Attitude”

There may never be a more important time to understand the power of a gratitude mindset than during these challenging times. My Zoom/In-person talk demonstrates how gratitude has transformed countless lives in a world of way too many unhealthy coping mechanisms. Your members will learn about:

• How gratitude can overcome any life-changing event
• The power of the “You Are” exercise
• The 60-second gratitude challenge
• How writing in a daily gratitude journal can change your life

With over 1500 gratitude videos posted on my YouTube channel, thousands have seen my message and now understand how an “attitude of gratitude” can change your life & increase expectations.

My published books include “That Gratitude Guy’s Daily Gratitude Journal,” “Six-Word Lessons to Embrace Gratitude” & many others.
I would love the opportunity to speak to your group about how embracing gratitude can change their lives too.

“Gratitude turns what you have into enough”

Gratefully,
David George Brooke – “That Gratitude Guy” / 206-371-8309

This Saturday, we held our 5th Annual Holiday Turkey Giveaway! I wanted to take a moment to thank all of those that participated this year. For those who don't know, each year we partner with Lancaster County Project for the Needy (LCPN) to distribute 100 turkey meals to families in E-town over the holidays. We also distribute 50 whole chicken meals to our smaller households. This year, we had so many special partners!

Elizabethtown Area HUB: Thank you E-town HUB for helping organize and plan this year's event as well as donating 100 aluminum turkey pans! This was a new item included in our meals this year and it was a wonderful idea and very appreciated!

Elizabethtown Mennonite Church: For the second year in a row, our turkey event was held outdoors as a drive through pickup due to the pandemic. For the second year, E-town Mennonite has been a gracious host and has helped us easily hand out the meals in their spacious parking lot. I want to give a special thank you to Paul S., who is always on site during the event, helping us unpack turkeys and guide traffic. Thank you!

Masonic Village Farm & Farm Market: They donated enough apples to put a bag of the fresh produce in each of the 150 meals!

Giant in Elizabethtown: Once again, they donated the 150 reusable tote bags, and also delivered the 100 turkeys, thank you!

LIV_Etown : WOW! This organization went above and beyond and not only did they donate 150 each of boxes of instant potatoes, cans of corn, stuffing, and gravy, but they also added an "extras" bag which included items that are easy to make by kids at home over the holiday break! The local shops that make up LivEtown relied on their customers, staff, and owners and really came up with such a tremendous amount of items for our giveaway. Thank you all so much for your generosity!

Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce : Thank you so much for donating the funds to purchase 150 cans of green beans, 150 jars of applesauce and 150 cookie mix desserts! We also appreciate the additional donation of a cart full of our most needed items in our store. Thank you to all of the E-town businesses that participated, we are very grateful!

Elizabethtown Area School District: We have two large groups of high school students to thank, we could not have done this without them! Mr. Spittal's Contemporary Issues class bagged the apples that were donated by Masonic Village and placed all of the donations for the "fixin's bag" into all 150 totes. The Human Rights Club helped us on the day of the event! They helped us carry all of the turkeys, meals and extras to each clients car, and helped transport any items that were left over back to the Community Cupboard. We also had students from National Honor Society and students who were there on their own behalf to help. Special thank you to Helena B. and her aunt for helping transport all of the food from the Cupboard to the church the day before the event! Thank you so much to all of the students and to EAHS for helping your students learn compassion and giving to their fellow neighbors.

The Community Cupboard has always relied on the generosity of this town and it is why we have been able to help so many families in need. Thank you so much Elizabethtown and Happy Holidays to all!

Nicole Rosenberger had a dream of international orphanages and feeding programs. Early in her journey of making her dreams become reality she began to discover the detriment of a mindset toward orphanages. She was inspired to hop on a plane to Haiti and see things for herself. She stayed with locals in their community. She interviewed neighbors and played with the children. She was mesmerized by the hospitality of the people, the simplicity of the lifestyle, and the beauty in the art created there. About mid-week during her stay, she was approached by a momma who was in tears and seemed not only sad but hesitant and humble. In desperation she asked Nicole to take her baby and return to United States with him. This was heart breaking and life altering. That evening as Nicole sat upon the hill amongst the rubble that was remaining from a devastating earthquake it became very clear that what this woman and what this community and what this country needed was the ability for loving mamas and hard-working Papas to be able to care for their own children and even children of deceased family members. Education, job creation, and establishment of infrastructure is what this country and many other countries around the world are desperately in need of. Not more orphanages.

Nicole returned home and established Trade Faire. Trade Faire was originally a partner at Shops on Market. With the closing of Shoppes on Market, Trade Faire relocated with other partners to Trellis Marketplace. Trade Faire closed their doors at Trellis at the end of May 2022 and looks forward to serving communities around the world and providing our community with amazing hand crafted products at their new location @ 3 North Market St. in Elizabethtown. The sales of these handcrafts help provide the funds for hard-working families to feed their children and provide them with an education and shelter.

Trade Faire partners with Ten Thousand Villages, Papillon Enterprise, Soap Box Soaps, Peace by Chocolate and many other producers and Artisans from around the world to bring you amazing products. Trade Faire will also continue to provide you with locally crafted items including the very popular Pennsylvania Soy candle, which Nicole co-founded... crafting candles since 2002. Trade Faire also takes pride in carrying Soap Box Soaps, a social enterprise that Nicole has had the privilege of watching grow since their beginnings of making soap in their college apartment.

Trade Faire also support the work that Nicole does with Foster youth here in the United States and youth in Haiti through the non-profit that she founded Highland child and community services. Www.highlandservices.org.

Welcome to our downtown Trade Faire!
