Today's harvest. 310 pounds of gorgeous tomatoes. 10 boxes in 2 hours. Just one worker. Total to date for 2022: 10,046 pounds! More to come!

Over 1,500 pounds of tomatoes and potatoes were delivered today to Central PA Food Bank and Lancaster County food hub. Thanks to Christina, Summit, and Rivers Smoker who harvested 850 pounds of tomatoes this morning. ( Pastor Matt helped). So far, we have harvested 9,376 lbs. for our neighbors.

Thank you Etown Rotary Club files for your volunteer work today. We harvested 999 pounds of tomatoes and potatoes together!

Join us this Saturday at 9:00 am for the potato harvest!

This summer, Pastor Matt had the privilege to work with these two at the farm. What a joy to spend time with both of them before they head off to college. They were both hard workers, loved the place and the work, supported volunteers, delivered produce, and made me smile a lot. Thanks for a great summer, Cora and Jonah!

We currently have over 100 boxes of tomatoes and 15 boxes of melons at the farm. About 3,700 pounds. All of it for food relief in Lancaster county this week!!

Yesterday over 20 children and adults from the Etown ward of the LDS church came to the farm to harvest together. They harvested over 900 pounds of tomatoes, 30 boxes! Our total harvest yesterday included about 250 pounds of cantaloupe, too. In one week, we harvested 2,200 pounds of vegetables. From Saturday August 9 to yesterday, we harvested about two tons!!

We have over 60 boxes of tomatoes right now. And we just started picking cantaloupe and watermelon!! Some of the most perfect tomatoes we have ever produced.

Today we hosted over 40 Millersville University summer scholars. They harvested 1,899 pounds of tomatoes!! Our summer total is 3,400 pounds with much more to go! Watermelon, cantaloupes, peppers, and potatoes coming soon. And fall veggies are planted!

This summer the pollinator gardens at the farm are beautiful. Come and see!

The Moment for Food Sovereignty is Now From panic planting to cooperative gardens, farmers focused on equity and food justice know that ‘if you can feed yourself, you can free yourself.’

Planting day! We welcomed over 30 volunteers from Christ Lutheran, Etown and the Etown ward of the Latter Day Saints. Along with several individual volunteers (including Jenn, Maggie, Dave, Chris, Jim, and Tim--- all regular farm volunteers). We planted potatoes, lettuce, broccoli, tomatoes, kale, basil, and bell peppers. Next week, we will plant thousands of vegetable plants And we need volunteers!!

New plastic mulch laying machine
This is our new plastic mulch layer. We bought one this year to simplify our field preparations. We use Bio 360 black material, made of corn starch. It disintegrates naturally in a few months. We use it to start our vegetable transplants. It provides a w**d barrier and a warm, wet environment for early plant growth.
