We got mail!! šŸ“¬

I’ve been DYING for one of these! 🤭

Any guesses? šŸ‘€

Our three are thriving šŸ™ŒšŸ¼āœØ

Watching them change day by day has to be one of the sweetest rhythms of rabbit keeping. Their beautiful coats are filling in, their little bodies are getting stronger, and we’re just about to reach one of my favorite milestones… eyes opening!

Before long they’ll be peeking out into the world for the very first time, and it never ceases to amaze me just how quickly such tiny things can grow.

But I have to giggle… 🤭

Our runt of the litter here has already decided it has bigger places to be. It likes wiggling right out of the nest and trying to take off like it owns the place! It’s almost always the unexpected ones with the biggest determination… If you’ve raised rabbits before, you know exactly what I mean.

Aren’t they precious?šŸ‡

We planted our seeds today šŸŒøšŸŒ¼šŸ’•

The boys had so much fun and already want to plant more. I’m thinking about adding some raised garden beds this spring so they can have their own little spaces to plant and organize things they want to grow too!

Do any of you have toddler gardens? I would love to see them or hear any suggestions!

I planted a garden last summer, but I’m really looking forward to trying my hand at sowing this spring. What grows well in boxes around here? What are your must haves in a spring garden?

Life today seems built around convenience šŸ’

Everything is meant to be quicker, easier, and more comfortable. We rush from one thing to the next, spinning our tires before the light even turns green, always trying to find the shortcut.

But the more I think about it, the more I realize somethin… I don’t want a convenient life.

A genuine life lived with intention is rarely convenient. It asks more of us. It asks us to slow down, to do things right the first time, to go the extra mile when nobody celebrates it. It calls us to work harder, to serve others, and sometimes to die to ourselves a little.

That kind of life takes grit. It takes discipline. It takes love. It takes God. šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

So maybe the choices I make, or the way I do things, won’t always seem convenient. Maybe they’ll take more time, more effort, and more heart.

But maybe that’s the point.

Maybe we’re meant to take the extra step for someone. Maybe we’re meant to serve outside of ourselves. Maybe the real reward isn’t in avoiding the work, but in the goodness that grows from it.

What if convenience has been the real buzzkill all along?
What if we learned to look at the reward of hard work instead of the weight of the labor?

Just some food for thought today ✨

Don’t stop trying šŸ¤

This little one made its way out of the nest during the downpour… By the grace of God it landed inside a protective cover, and after frantically searching we found this little babe alive.

My first instinct was to nurse!

As soon as I felt that tiny body begin to warm, I brought mama over and helped the kit find her milk. After a few moments I truly thought it hadn’t taken… My heart was already bracing for the worst.

But look at these photos!! Yesterday compared to today… that sweet round belly says it all.

The miracle I prayed for.

Sometimes the smallest lives remind us of the biggest truth. Never stop trying. Even when your heart feels a little broken. God can still breathe life into any moment. šŸ™ŒšŸ¼āœØ

And then there were three… šŸ’”

We had an absolute down pour last night and despite my many prayers, we lost a few of our little ones. Anyone who raises livestock knows just how these moments feel when they happen.

I honestly don’t have much of anything to say…

I’m just tired, grateful for the ones with us, and trusting the Lord with our next steps forward. I know the sun will shine again tomorrow… but my stomach is in knots.

I’m taking a moment to mourn the little lives that meant SO much šŸ˜£šŸ™šŸ¼

Slowing it down 🌸 ✨

Our weekend started out a little more chaotic than we anticipated, but the sun is shining and we’ve got paint with big plans on our hands.

The boys and I finished our tiny pots for some wild flower seeds a loved one sent us for Valentine’s Day. We’re mighty excited to plant them soon and the boys can’t wait to watch them grow 🌱

Still nothing fancy over here… Just finger painting on a Walmart bag but the mess rolled right up. Just a simple, sweet, and much needed moment with my boys. 😌

Our kits are growing šŸ‡āœØ

I’ve been so busy lately but wanted to give an update on the kits! Tommorow they turn a week old and are already getting their fur in. Originally I had counted five, but found another little kit hidden deep in the nest. Sunday I’ll be pulling everyone out for a closer look šŸ™ˆ

All six babies are round and healthy, praise God!

Sheep Skin šŸ‘šŸ¤Ž

There’s just something special about having natural pieces in a home. I picked up this beautiful sheepskin from William over at Foley Farrier and finally brushed it out and laid it down today. He told me it came from a Jacob sheep, which sent me down the sweetest little history trail.

The breed gets its name from the story of Jacob in Genesis, where he kept the speckled and dark sheep from the flock as his wages. Whether this hide traces back that far or not, it’s still a beautiful reminder sitting here in our home šŸ“–

God’s creation has always been thoughtful, useful, and wonderfully made. How Shfancy ✨

Beyond proud ✨

Seeing our lady here thrive as a first time Mom has made EVERY struggle with her worth it. I look forward to going through the nest today.. and may even go Live too! šŸ‘€šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

Third time’s a charm… we hope šŸ¤žšŸ¼šŸ‡

We’re rebreeding our PAR Lantern Ɨ CCK Peaches & CrĆØme pair for the third time and I’m praying this sweet girl takes to him! Sometimes working with the rabbits teaches a bit more patience than I’d ask for.. but needed all the same.

Any of my breeder friends ever had a pair make you work for it? 🤭
