Very rough prototype! The best UVA1 spectrum I’ve ever seen, being able to dim and replicate sunrise and sunset takes it to another level!
Our favorite part of this business is R&D. Pushing the limits of current technology to make strides to maximize the well-being of our animals. Here’s something we hope to flesh out into a final product soon. Phosphors have gotten us closer to sun spectrum than anything we’ve seen yet from an LED.
I strongly believe phosphors are the way forward with reptile lighting. I’ve been in the lab with phosphor producers trying to put together something great for our animals. Here’s just a small taste of what they can do.

This is a great example of a tarantula basking to thermoregulate. We’ll be starting a field study of basking behaviors in A. steindachneri in July.
I get this question quite a bit so thought I’d put together a quick video to help visualize what’s going on.
Thought we’d post a quick video about WHY we have UVA1 LED’s. This is quick and glosses over and simplifies the science quite a bit but gets the point across.
