While digging through old cassette tapes, Tito stumbled across a piece of Borderland hip-hop history: one of DJ Willie Will's earliest mixtapes. The discovery brought back memories of hearing local talent for the first time and realizing hip-hop was happening right in his own city.

Thirty years ago today, Heltah Skeltah dropped their debut album Nocturnal and cemented their place in the golden era of underground hip-hop.
Powered by the unmistakable chemistry of Rock and Ruck, Nocturnal delivered rugged production, razor-sharp lyricism, and classic tracks like Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka, Operation Lock Down, and Therapy.

🚨 Today in Hip-Hop History 🚨
On this day, June 17, 1997, Capone-N-Noreaga dropped their classic debut album The War Report.
Straight out of Queensbridge, CNN delivered a gritty street soundtrack packed with cinematic production, raw storytelling, and undeniable chemistry. With tracks like "T.O.N.Y. (Top of New York)," "L.A., L.A.," and "Closer," the album helped define the sound of late-'90s East Coast hip-hop.
Nearly three decades later, The War Report remains one of the most respected debut albums to come out of the Queensbridge legacy.

🔥 ONE HAS TO GO 🔥
Two of the greatest debut albums in hip-hop history.
💿 Nas – Illmatic (1994) 💿 The Notorious B.I.G. – Ready to Die (1994)
Both changed the culture. Both are certified classics. Both still influence artists today.
But this is where it gets difficult...
You can only keep ONE.
Which album are you riding with and why?
