💙 Proud to have attended Socorro ISD’s State of the District today and to serve as Vice Chair of the Budget Advisory Committee.

Grateful for the opportunity to support decisions that strengthen our schools, invest in our students, and help shape the future of our district.

From the Texas Capitol to AUPHA to Becker’s Rural Healthcare Leadership Summit, the past two weeks have been filled with meaningful conversations about the future of healthcare.

Grateful for the opportunity to testify before the Texas House Committee on Public Health, present alongside colleagues from across the country, and discuss innovation and partnerships in rural healthcare.

Looking forward to turning these conversations into action.

🧪➡️📈 From the lab bench to the boardroom.

Not every healthcare career follows a traditional path. In this week’s Healthspark episode, Simar Sharma shares how she went from bioengineering research to helping biopharma companies navigate the complex realities of getting new therapies to patients.

One of my favorite parts of this conversation was hearing how experiences outside the classroom—including case competitions, networking, and curiosity-driven learning—helped shape her career.

If you’re a student, early-career professional, or anyone wondering what healthcare careers beyond direct patient care can look like, this episode is for you.

Rural communities have always been centers of resilience, innovation, and connection.

As healthcare continues to evolve, we have an opportunity to reimagine how care is delivered, how partnerships are formed, and how we support the unique needs of rural populations. The most impactful solutions will come from collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to improving health where people live and work.

Looking forward to engaging with leaders who are driving meaningful change and helping shape what’s next for rural healthcare.

Looking forward to engaging with fellow leaders at Becker’s and bringing the perspective of Rural Hospital Officers Academy to the discussion. The best solutions emerge when healthcare, public health, academia, and community stakeholders work together toward shared goals.
