She’s a beauty!
First calf of the year and we got a heifer.
And she is the granddaughter of my first highland I ever bought so we are thrilled it’s a girl.
Mom is 6 and it’s her first - she had a couple tough winters and never carried a calf but we kept her b/c she is the last daughter of the first cow and now she has a girl - the line continues.🩷

A mama and 3 babies. The little red one closest to her is her heifer from last year. She sneaks in next to mom first and then the others sneak in next to her and then they are protected under her horn.
Highlands hang out in family groups making mini-herds within the herd.

The boys in our upper pasture. The white bull is our herd bull - Sam. Big black bull is Badger - he is retired. The rest are steers we will butcher this fall after a summer of delicious grass.

They sure know how to be cute!
There are 3 of our babies from last summer.
